It appears that I post something --I make sure to INCLUDE its source...it is NOT offensive or obscene--and you immediately remove iit....( in this case a portion of a thread i found illuminating from Hillaryclintonforum.net) this happens constantly....and is very frustrating....the "free" in free republic does not appear to hold---perhaps a clarification of your increasingly rigid rules would help?
The parameters are so narrow some good content is being unilaterally struck....PLEASE EXPLAIN so that i can contribute in a way that allows my points to be seen.
Thank you.
And a reminder to everyone that AP threads are shot on sight.
great way to intensify interest in your thread! A lot better than the usual BTT.
When you post something any old place on the forum, the mods are going to move it to the part of the forum where it belongs (with some annoyance), and it will seem to you that the post has been pulled when it’s only been moved.
Snickered with glee at that one!!
Thanks, that help solve the mystery :-)
( still would like a bit of instruction about what does and does not make the cut...like that ‘no AP content’ thing, did not know)
fyi/tip : If the source is a Blog(or not a real news source) - which that one is - it should be posted in Bloggers&Personal forum. If you post to that Forum, it will probably show up here in the News forum for a brief time and then be moved over to Bloggers.
Hope that helps
Any old-timers out there remember all the forums named "Whitewater?" Ah, memories.
Even if it's titled, "Bikini Model Falls into Vat of Jell-O."
that’s how I found FR in the first place. We had been clipping articles from any newspaper we could find them in, mostly Washington Times, for years and sharing them with friends and family in the face of the general news neglect at the time. Then, typed in www.http/ Whitewater. com,and there came FR. Found out Alamo Girl had such an archive I was wasting my time with the scissors.
Yeah, that’s what happens. I forget sometimes too. So, I have to try to remember to switch over to the forum it should be posted in first.
What would A+Bert say about this .... and how long would it be after he said it would he be banned ....... again?
With A+Bert, it depended on the time of day, if you know what I mean.
Start with these:

“And a reminder to everyone that AP threads are shot on sight.”
Not sure I get the rationale behind that one. Rules is rules, I guess.
did he cross the line at .15 or .20, and could you set your watch by it?
I don't think you need to understand the rationale behind it, it's an order from the Captain.
You have to poke around a little, but there is a list posted somewhere on the site of publishers who get very legal if we post their stuff. Some of them figure that if people can read it for free online they won’t buy the original newspaper; others simply do not want their content associated with a conservative site. In any case, posting from these sources (like the Washington Post company) causes big legal headaches and the mods are all over it.
I’m a newbie myself, I found these things out by digging around a little. The Powers That Be here do have this material available.
First, make sure you’re logged in.
Umm...got a link??
Google it. ;)
“First, make sure youre logged in.”
LMAO!!!
This DUmmie had the same “problem”....

That’s funny. Someone should reply on that thread, “you need to be intelligent about it.”
hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
The admins can answer your underlying question.
I will, however, point out that it's "Free Republic," NOT "Free Private Internet Site."
“It’s five o’clock somewhere.”
I especially enjoy the fact that you don't even offer AP threads a last cigarette and blindfold.
?
I missed the thread “Bikini Model Falls in Vat of Jello”
Can you direct me to its location? Huh? Can you? Can you?
Dunno what happened to the original. The mods might be reviewing it.
“Bikini Model Falls into Vat of Jell-O.”

Bookmarked. Thanks for the link.
Just put “Open” at the end of it and you should be fine :).
For some reason I do not yet understand, Vanity Posts in the Religion forum are not only allowed but seemingly encouraged. All you need to do is put “Open” at the and and all is well.

Wrong.
As the search page reminds us:
Limitations: Only article titles can be searched and words with three or fewer letters are not searched at all.
Good thing you’re here or we’d all be lost. ;)
Dang it, don't do that. I just spent 20 minutes searching for that one. Closest I could find was "FReeper Indicted For Fixing Jell-O Wrestling Matches."
Do you realize what the bail cost me for that one?
Where is that one? I haven’t seen it. Cherry?
Can you ping me a link to this one. It sounds very educational.
LOL, we are all thinking the exact same thing..
I think a thread titled, “Bikini Model Rescued from Vat of Jell-O [VIDEO]” would get even more hits. Just navel-gazing, of course.
TS.
I think pissant is probably the resident expert on how many hits a thread like that could expect.
How can you be here for nearly 4 years and not know how to post an article?
In fact, you don’t need to be here any length of time at all. If you open up the new thread form, it’s self explanatory. Look at the field headings.
If you still have any doubt as to how to post an article, look at the way others have posted articles.
dunno....maybe because I very rarely have posted in all that time...I have not studied the user experience.
I have noticed however, that my posts have been automatically removed for obscure reasons at times—it has been frustrating in the past, still not clear why some posts disappear.
But thanks very much for the unsolicited flogging. You’re a gent.
