Today I was interviewed by a French newspaper reporter.

Yes, my mom retired to Pecks Mill and died at my sister’s in Max Meadows, VA. House sold for $12,000 ten years ago : )

I did some quick research on Paris Match. It looks like a cross between Time and Life. Looks like their combat photographers have some balls, also.

Amother thing that struck me was her determination to label us a “poor” county.

Every where you look, new houses are going up, and there are numerous half million dollar homes that were uncommon ten years ago. Some people only see what they want to see and discard all else.

Actually, I informed her that a large number of demos would not vote for him, but could not bring themselves to vote for any republican, so they would not vote in the presidential election at all.

Some of the harder-core Hillary supporters in the region I've run into told me they would write in Hillary come November than vote for either Obama or McCain.

Fascinating.

Ahh the French...

So eager to paint us all as backwater racist bigots.

Pay no attention to scads of the Arab youths, rioting in their streets, for more socialist entitlements...

Yes, I’m sure some French have an already nostalgic “love” for Obama, now that majority of them have done a sensible thing in picking Sarkozy.

Did you converse in French? Or are you an American yahoo like me who doesn’t know a single word and hopes to keep it that way until I meet my Maker.

Oh...and she reminded me time again that the french seemed to love Obama...

You should have asked her why they are such racists.

Recently Byron York of NRO while in France recounted a conservation he had with two French women who asked York what possible reason could any American have for not voting for Obama. York almost laughed at the question, but I do not remember what his response was. What he should have said is Obama is way off to the left, and most Americans are center-right.

The question posed to him by the women reveals a disturbing mindset I suspect many liberal Euros have. Who could not possibly like the most leftist candidate ever nominated by a major American party? It makes me laugh at the naivete and ignorance of the women, but disturbs me as well. I can't imagine asking a French citizen why any French voter could have a reason for not voting for Sarkozy.

I asked her what she thought of Sarkozy...

She said she didn’t like him because “he didn’t believe in democracy and freedom of speech.” and “He would put journalists in jail if he could.”

I never attended kindergarten and I’m not a journalist and probably nobody would read what I wrote, but if you ever need a conservative American to do an interview, let me know.
