I don't know what happened, but I'm watching Mike & Mike on ESPN this morning, and when they came back from a break, Mike Golic was no longer ther. The duo was at the white House last night and are currently broadcasting from DC. Greeny has only stated that Golic had to step away and "we'll have to go on without him."
Maybe he got sick.
I wouldn’t want them to say why I had to leave. Can you imagine “Mike got sick and had to leave”. Well, since he wasn’t sniffling earlier, you can only assume “sick” means he is either sitting on the toilet or barfing and it’s not something you want people picturing you doing right at that second.
Maybe he ate a bad prawn at the White House.
I must have joined after that happened. I turned in on a hour or so ago and it was just Greenburg. What a week they have had.
Had he pi$$ed off a muslim? Threatened? ;)
Hopefully it’s just something temporary, and not a family emergency or more severe medical problem.
He was a good footbal player, and from what I hear and see, a great dad.
I remember watching a game where the coach, the great Ty Willingham, was missing. This was somewhere in the middle of the third quarter, I believe. He came running on the field with that classic “God, can’t a man take a dump without the assistants letting the opposing team score” look on his face. No wonder ND fired him.
They also raised over $57,000 dollars yesterday for the ‘Jimmy V Foundation’ by auctioning off a chance to have Mike & Mike broadcast from the high bidders home. And then they got a matching bid from a children's cancer facility in Texas.
That's about $115,000 dollars raised!! And 100% goes to cancer research!

I really like him. He's down to earth, knowledgable and articulate, doesn't have a problem laughing at himself, and a good sidekick to the sport nerd, Mike Greenberg.

When I heard the name Marta, she was my first thought. But I figured it was just someone with the same name! No wonder she didn’t want to come on the air or give her last name!!
At least Marta is spending Rush’s money for a good cause.
If the gig goes off, however, it'll have to be with the blessing of the strict town. Using a private residence on the island for commercial purposes, including a radio broadcast, is strictly verboten.
