You are correct...Batman Begins.
there was no elevator scene
you doofus
Hey there!! Hope you’re having a great summer!
ITA with every thing you said. There were a couple of other little things, like why did the mayor have so much eyeliner on?
It was hard for me to separate Chicago from Gotham City, especially since all the cars had IL plates. Like when they took the ferry (that left from Navy Pier, wth?), I kept thinking, “Where are they taking the ferry? Winnetka? Gary, IN?”
It sounds like I hated it. LOL I swear I liked it. One of the creepiest movie moments ever was when The Joker was filming the video of the captured impostor Batman.
Yes, that was a little odd.
“Its called depth of story and character development.”
But this film had paper thin characters and clothesline masqerading for a narrative.
“Sure, show six cops being killed but dont bloody the Jokers face.”
Didn’t see blood when the cops were killed, or when any of the other bad guys died. Lots of violence, but bloodless violence.
I give it a 4.
I think they did a pretty good job of not putting things in that were too, too recognizable as Chicago. I don’t remember any big skyline scenes or anything. But they do use Lower Wacker (”Lower 5th” in the movie) and you can see Marina Towers next to the mayors office (if you can stop staring at his eyeliner).
I know! I kept thinking...Chicago is Gotham? It was distracting. Though, Chicago is probably not unlike Gotham. LOL! And the mayor’s office overlooking the Chicago River. aaaaahhhh!!!
the eye-liner bugged me too! haha!
hilarious how we notice the same things.
the Joker mentions Cicero too when telling where Rachel is.
bookmark until see movie :)
Robs Law of Movie/Book Quality....
Quality/Enjoyment of any movie or book is inversely proportional to the quantity of hype.
You know Daley was watching that movie going, “Where is my Batman?” ;-)
Not if you’re paying attention. Heck the very fictional city the story takes place in has character development as the citizens learn to make a moral stand even if it costs them their lives. There aren’t that many movies where the nameless masses have a character arc.
The whole thing struck as me as pretty hollow. One dimensional characters spouting trite dialogue in between setpieces. The Two-Face subplot was phoned in and Bale is rather inexpressive.
Didn’t strike me as hollow. Of course I’m pretty steeped in the Batman mythology, I know on a nearly line by line basis which eras they’re pulling character attitudes and events from. I knew the depth of the story before the lights went down.
I've seen worse on TV during the 6:00 news coverage of the Middle East. Just a typical day in a Baghdad or Gaza neighborhood.
Well I am with you there. They had the first three movies kind of going forward, then these two prequels, are we gonna now have a leap really forward to an old Batman to do “The Dark Knight Returns?”
