A 23-year-old father was booked into jail under suspicion of second-degree child abuse after leaving his son in his car while he watched the midnight showing of "The Dark Knight."
David Farnham of Salt Lake City left his 2-year-old son inside his car in the parking lot of the Century 16 Theaters at 125 E. 3300 South on Saturday night. An onlooker walking by the car at 1:22 a.m. on Sunday saw the baby inside the vehicle crying and sweating profusely, said detective Gary Keller with the South Salt Lake City Police Department.
Farnham rolled the windows up in the car "so the child could not be taken out," according to a jail booking statement. The temperature inside the vehicle was 87 degrees, the statement added.
Farnham was located inside of the theater and the boy was taken out of the car. The boy was thirsty, but otherwise in good condition, Keller said.
The boy has since been released to his mother. Farnham was booked into the Salt Lake County Metro Jail where he is being held without bail.
The case has been turned over for screening at the District Attorney's Office.
Another moron who doesnt understand parenting is a 24 hour per day job. I’m sure we will be hearing many more stories like this since the next degeneration is all grown up.
The guys nuts, the movie sucks.
Ya, Iron Man is so much better. I wonder why the father didn’t invest in a baby sitter, too expensive maybe?
Father of the baby (lookin at his money)....”Hmmm....let’s see..babysitter? Batman? babysitter? Batman?....Hmmmm... ok kid...you’re on your own.”
Pathetic
23 going on 9
My heart goes out to this neglected child of this selfish father and selfish mother.

Oh yea! Remember the story about the young couple that neglected their baby because they played video games all day? What is with these young people that they just did not learn parenting skills? No wait............let me guess....................they do not teach that in day care???????????????????????????

What a dumbass father.......the baby gets in free! (at least in most theatres)
and there was the guy who left the kid in the car while he was in the strip club. A degeneration of morons!
It wasn’t about a ticket - babies fuss, make noise and otherwise distract “Daddee” when he wants to concentrate on his moo-vee.
Then he should have left baby with moomee or wait for the DEEVDEE!
It’s the generation of ‘me me me!!’.
I am thoroughly disgusted with my daughter and her so-called husband.
On the weekends they go to the fair, movies, air show what ever they like.
The kick is,,they leave the kids behind with a babysitter...
That’s right! They go on what we would consider ‘family outings’ WITHOUT the family.
I wouldn’t dream of leaving my daughters with a babysitter to go to the fair, or an air show.
We took our kids everywhere and I think rightfully so.
After all..They were OUR responsiblity..NOT some babysitters.
This generation of ‘parents’ is getting more and more pathetic every day.
Where the heck did we go wrong?
I was at a business lunch with my libtard co-workers and we were talking about teenage pregnancy. I thought their heads were going to explode when I told them that I would not tolerate a teen out of wedlock arrangement. It would be adoption or marriage, even if I needed the shotgun.
What is with these young people that they just did not learn parenting skills?

We need a new and independent department in the Executive branch responsible for parenting skills. Department offices need to be opened in every city in the U.S. and staffed 24 hours by professionals in the field. It’s obvious that this area has been completely ignored by Bush. /s
And youre not living in my house with an illegitimate child. I will not pay for your mistake.
Amen to that!!!
I'm sure we will but don't forget that the Baby Boomer generation raised the latest degeneration. I call the Baby Boomers the "do as I say not as I do" generation. With their 50% divorce rate it is not surprising the newest degeneration are bad parents. Many of the late 20 somethings and early 30 somethings having kids are morons. These people just sit in their apartments or condos and watch their Hi Def TVs and play their video games. It is impossible to engage some of these people in a conversation about something other than the latest movie or reality TV show.
That kid's gonna grow up to be aloof, dark, troubled ...
... Hey! He'll be Batman!
Wait?
Hear, hear!
While on vacation back in June, my wife and I were waiting for an elevator to go back up to our room after breakfast and when the door opened there was an gentleman, clearly in his late 60’s or older, with 3 “energetic” kids in the 5-6 year old range. We smiled and said something like “You’re busy today!” or some such thing. The guy looked at us with an absolutely miserable look on his face and said, “Yes, I am raising the next generation.”
My wife and I went to our room and immediately sat our 3 boys (16, 12, 11) down and told them in no uncertain terms that if they made this mistake that they were on their own. I am not about to raise my grandchildren.
Well, it's not like he didn't take steps to ensure the kid's safety. < /sarc>
We had our first when I was 19...Got married and haven’t screwed them up too badly.
It’s not the age, it’s the willingness to leave behind one’s youth that matters.
Actually, I think children keep you young. It’s not being willing to give up your youth. It’s being willing to put the child first in your life, where they belong.
Maybe when you’re thirty or forty they keep you young...But when you’re 19, they age you at an incredible rate. I don’t regret keeping my first, because I was pretty worthless up until I had her. But I did have to give up alot of my youthful indulgences; weekend drinking binges, spending all my money in one day and eating crackers for the next two weeks, staying up till 3am playing Playstation, gothic moping sessions, getting tattoos...
I understand. Ironically though, by giving up those indulgences you probably added years to your life, or at least increased the likelihood you’ll stay healthy longer.
