Technically speaking ~ in general ~ although we recently read about some non-Moslems being picked up in Mecca. They weren't executed ~ just fined and kicked out of the country.

The deal is that you have to have inside connections with the family who rules Saudi Arabia. There are about 50,000 members, so it's not as hard as you might imagine to go there.

Getting into the religious celebrations at Ramadan is a different matter.

You recall, of course, that Mohammad was supposedly in a cave in the vicinity of Mecca when he was told to pick up a piece of paper and read.

Interesting story ~ it leads many to think the cave might have archaeological value. I know of one person who actually visited the cave. Others have told me the cave is really off limits ~ and rather dangerous. You can imagine the traffic in and out of the place over the centuries.

I didn’t think it was off limits. I knew several people who made the climb & they each said they were with groups. The cave itself is not dangerous, but it’s located at the top of al nour mountain which is a steep climb for about an hour. You have to go to the top & then come down a bit to reach the cave (Gar Hirah). There are Islamic sayings (mashallah, tbrak allah, mohammad rasul allah, etc.) & the first surah colorfully painted on the walls.

The "steep climb for about an hour" probably sets the limit. Awful lot of the pilgrims I've ever met were at the age where climbing would be a problem.

The Saudis have been trying hard to bring down the death and injury rate there.

I’d opt for the salmon as well. Some of the paint places will give you those cool little paper hats for free, you know, the ones that say “Sherwin-Williams” or whatever? You could take it to the range and get a couple of bullet holes put in it afterward just for a conversation-starter.

Ha! That’s because I’m a perfectionist! Delay is 25 but Jason’s animator speed is sometimes different than other places.

I kept decreasing it to the slowest that was still readable. If that went faster it would look very smooth.
