So far for Mr. Obama, who came to Europe once in the last four years, making a stop in London on his way to Russia, the response of many Europeans to his potential presidency has been gratifying emotional, responsive, replete with the sense of hope he seeks to engender about a more flexible, less ideological America.
On Thursday evening in a glittering Berlin, cheered by as many as 200,000 people, Mr. Obama delivered a tone poem to American and European ideals and shared history. In contrast, just before he spoke, Mr. McCain, was sitting in Schmidts Sausage Haus und Restaurant in Columbus, Ohio, having a bratwurst, and saying grumpily that he would prefer to speak to Germans when he is president, not before.
But for all the rock-star excitement abroad reminiscent of the European embrace of the last Democratic president, Bill Clinton Mr. Obama was vague on crucial issues of trade, defense and foreign policy that currently divide Washington from Europe and are likely to continue to do so even if he becomes president.

The new President of the US of EU.
Just out of curiosity, how many countries has he, and will he visit on this trip? If it’s seven, then that’s where he came up with 57 states. The down side to that is those people can’t vote in OUR election. Sorry Barry.
Isn’t it FUNNY that Obama chose NOW to have his plane repainted to REMOVE the American FLAG????? Just in time so he does not OFFEND his Euroweenie buddies????
The Silent Majority is watching and not pleased. Your clock is ticking... ObamaBozoDumboStutteringFool...
You are absolutely right. Supposedly, he was told he couldn’t visit our wounded troops on the “political leg” of his campaign (although a military hospital spokesperson stated they did NOT know why he didn’t come.). What’s he doing CAMPAIGNING in Europe??????????? The United States of the European Union??
I’d like to know how many of the middle-east and European fans of Obama are somehow able to vote in OUR election?
Just how many dual-citizenships are there, anyway?
But he’s all about tearing down walls, between nations, between races, between religions. We should want them to vote in our elections, get medical care in our hospitals, and tell us what our laws should be and what our military should and should not do.

” Whats he doing CAMPAIGNING in Europe?????????? “
It makes him LOOK presidential . Great PR , too . Could swing a lot of dopey undecideds .
BTW , the Japanese networks are following his every move .
He's getting a free European summer vacation at the expense of the American taxpayer. That's what he's doing. Might as well get all of the gib-me he can while the gettings good.
