Good morning.

Supposedly a 9 point poll bump has boosted O on his return from his overseas tour.

Good morning. Thanks for starting the thread. I appreciate the friendly commeraderie here.

The Charismatic gifts would refer to the more “showy” gifts of the Holy Spirit. That would be speaking in tongues, interpretation of those tongues and spectacular healings. Other gifts would be the gift of evangelism (I would say Billy Graham has that gift), prayer, teaching, preaching, etc. I wouldn’t classify the latter gifts as exclusively in the charismatic camp.

Again, I am not one that says one group (charismatic vs. non-charismatic) is right or wrong. I’m just delineating the difference as I understand it. Having said that I’ll reiterate that I am not charismatic.

Nightmares can wear a person out. I find when I have them, I wake up feeling like I just ran a marathon. Mentally tiring too.

Did you have a good trip to North AL?

Enjoy that new computer

It was very good. The weather was great. We stayed at Comfort Inn in Scottsboro. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. On Sunday, the worship service went smoothly with all the equipment working and good fellowship. Then afterward and after dinner, we headed over to Huntsville and talked over our upcoming IT needs with one of our favorite computer guys. We left there about 1730 and got in about 2230. On the way home we stopped at Cracker Barrel in Gardendale and Jeff, our waiter, did an excellent job. Now today we’ll do some gardening and decide on our next objectives. I plan to go over our next months’ schedules and begin filling in some of those dates.

What was so disturbing about the two nightmares is that it was about the death of two people. I’m not particularly close to those people but I like them very much.

BBL. The youngest must go to Story Book Farm.

Good Morning you all!

Beautiful sunrise and 59 degrees.

The sun was hazy all day yesterday. Apparently forest fires in Canada kept the skies hazy. You could feel the sun didn't have the same intensity.

I suspect that supposed 9 point bump with Obama. Most polls after his theatrics in Europe and the Mideast showed no gain.

If we had a real conservative running I think this election would not even be a contest. After hearing Obama speak last week I am stunned at how inept he is in foreign policy.

Jemian we have Relevant Radio here in Wisconsin. (Catholic Radio) In the evenings they will replay Archbishop Fulton Sheen's show, Life Is Worth Living. He also had the gifts of evangelism. I love listening to him.

She was diagnosed with Lewy Body Disease (same disease Estelle Getty had) back in Jan of this year.

Her moods cycle (usually by the day but sometimes by the hour) and her sleep cycles.

:(

Right now she is on her ‘downward’ cycle. Depressed, irritable, not sleeping at night, restless...

But I’ve learned instead of panicking I repeatedly tell myself this is a cycle and she’ll be out of it in a day or two. And she is.

But no matter what cycle she is in - she still has delusions. Some are so far fetched and others we have to think twice about. She has so many innocent ones, that when she tells the truth, sometimes we don’t believe her.

She is very similar to my how my granddaughters acted a couple of years ago at the age of 3. Except they outgrew their story telling.

Thanks for asking.

Thank you for the thread and ping Molly, good Monday morning everybody.

We arrived at our first destination safely on Saturday and have had a pleasant weekend. We found some fellow music pickers in the Austin scene and attended a jam yesterday afternoon that was fun. A woman who played bass with us handed me a card that said she’s a democrat precinct chairman.

Sigh....

:^)

Back to work today, running the business out of the RV. We’ll be moving to a different camp park in a couple of days to be closer to daughter’s apartment and help her move in. That park isn’t nearly as nice as this one. But several miles closer and more convenient.

Now, this the all American breakfast, sure plain out ole southern meal, looks so good it will make you slap your momma (and die of course).

Tough night last night, storms aplenty, lighting big time, every chicken I have headed for my porch, from the looks of it maybe a few extra showed up or else the lighting scared the ‘stuff’ out of them.

GD had a wonderful 13th birthday, hard to watch your little girl grow up but I reckon it just happens but it is hard. Now, D and us’n have two little boys, one adopted, the other shortly will be so life never gets dull and oh, D and SIL talking about maybe getting one more. I could never put into words how proud I am of them, one thing for sure, they will be brought up in a church too.

Got to get some chicken food for sure today, been feeding them horse food plus gotta replace the blade I killed on the small riding lawnmower, can't use the push mower as I once did, age I suspect is the reason.

I am off to the big house to see my kids and get some loving from Caleb, he jumps all over me when I walk in, I am the one he wants to put in his chair for his grits..yep. grits.

Morning!

What bothers me about Obama, among many things, is the way he continues to give no credit to our Armed Forces and the success they have brought in Iraq, and his look upon the United States as a country with problems.

This country has elevated him to his status that he enjoys now.

I heard Sarkozy's speech to a joint session in Congress. (Rush played clips of ut last week.) He makes Obama look very un-American.

What is it about liberalism that continues to downgrade this country?

Good morning all!

I graduated from The College of Steubenville many years ago. It is or was a Catholic school run by the Franciscans and listed listed in the top 25 small colleges in the USA. Since then it has become a university with a widely known reputation for following the doctrine of the Catholic church and for being charismatic. I lean toward your definition of charistamtic as doing good works and following the teachings of Jesus.

We have a local Catholic radio station here. I listen to Bishop Sheen at 7AM.

His program is also aired on EWTN but I forget exactly when.

It’s hard to realize that his program was on in prime time for many years, and also won an Emmy or two. My parents used to watch it, and they were not Catholic.

Times sure have changed!

The desire that liberalism has to turn away from freedom, liberty, adherence to God's Word, a strong military, government by the people and get into hard core, atheistic socialism.

nobama has only one interest in his life. Himself..His only interest is president of this country and to heck with everything and anyone else. I personally think he is a complete egomaniac. He suffers from meism. He will be a danger to our country for sometime to come, even if he loses this race. The presstitutes will treat him like a very special person, just as they did the clintons. The fact that he has extra SS and sniffer dogs to protect him gives me an idea of how special he thinks he is. I pray, just about every night that he is not elected.

In addition to your keen perceptions into this egomaniac monster, till, Kevin Wall, who was filling in for Bill Bennett this morning, was pointing out how this dissing of the injured soldiers and lying about the reason he dissed them, along with his inability to admit he was wrong on the surge, has exposed yet another serious and alarming flaw in his personality: The inability to step up and admit it when he is wrong. I was just thinking about this and it occured to me that this is a very common personality trait among dictators and tyrants. Hmmmmmmm.

I am not Catholic, but attended a Catholic school. Being a Lutheran, I was told I fit right into the scheme of things. I know, sounds illogical, doesn't it? Frankly, I think sometimes too much is made of our differences and not enough of our similarities.

My Mom listened to radio talk shows when i was a kid. Too bad, the shows were a little different than today. I think the hosts were all in it just for the ratings and to stir people up!

I think nobama has a tyrant’s personality. Have you noticed whenever Sen McCain’s campaign says anything about nobama, he and his handlers preceive the statement to be rude or crude or misplaced.

Have you noticed whenever nobama is caught in a lie, he claims he “misspoke”?

I’m curious about the fact that nobama will not show a certified birth certificate from Hawaii. Odd. The woman he calls his “grandmother” in Kenya says he was born there. Who knows. Have you noticed a young man in Isreal has stepped forward and taken the blame for taking nobama’s prayer out of the Wailing Wall and given it to the press. I read earlier (on FR) that nobama slipped the prayer to a reporter when he left the Wall. Who’re we to believe?????

Yes, every word from McCain about the fraud is met immediately with caustic retort.

And that secretive certified birth certificate concerns me greatly. It is a constitutional requirement that the president be a natural born citizen. Therefore, I believe it should be absolutely mandatory that a presidential candidate show indisputable proof of his or her natural born citizenship before the election. WHY is he getting away with not doing this?????????!!!!!!!

I don't know whose responsibility it is to see to it that he show proof, but whoever it is had better be getting to work on this. It shouldn't be a matter of anyone pushing the issue. The constitutionality of seeing to it that this is done cannot be questioned. Maybe we should be the ones shouting warnings about this. I heard that he is using Hawaiian State Law to prevent anyone from having access to it at the hospital he was supposedly born at. Even if it's a Hawaiian State Law, the U.S. Constitution trumps it.

The Obama people called Sen McCain’s birth into question because he was born in a military hospital in Panama, when his father was stationed there. In fact it went before a congressional committee, I believe, to see if a child born to American parents on a military installation can be considered a natural born citizen of America. It was determined YES, he is a natural born citizen of America, as he was born in an American military hospital. I think many years ago a law was passed that a child born in an American military hospital while the father was serving in that area was a natural born American, even if it’s mother was not an American, but married to the American military person.

This whole thing with Obama’s Birth revolves around the statement from the 1st woman married to his father. She told some press people Obama was born in Kenya. There’s a whole bunch of information about this in “Obama’s truth file”.

I hate to say this, but it’s because he is 1/8th Kenyian Negro..NOT American Negro. The press are afraid to call this into question and ask for proof. HOWEVER....Bryan Williams had an “exclusive interview” with him and I did listen to a bit, while going in and out of the kitchen, Roomey was listening, toward the end of the interview, the question of race came up....I left...I’m so sick and tired of the presstitutes ALWAYS bringing up race. “What’s it like to be the first black to stand on you head and stack beebees”? and other such idiotic questions. I left, didn’t hear Obama’s answer. It was probably profound...snicker.

I've always thought that any child born to a U.S. Citizen was given automatic citizenship.

WHEN was that law changed?

Thanks for prayers for my mom.

I took the day off work and spent all day in the hospital with her and she had quite a few people there today. Yesterday she was able to respond to questions by putting her tongue out, but today she didn’t seem to be able to do even that. She can follow you with her eyes and can furrow her brow and move her neck a tiny bit.

She’s got pneumonia and a UTI that put her in the hospital twice in the last month and the doctor said it probably will never completely clear up. A few times today she really struggled for breath and since about 10 o’clock this morning she’s been on oxygen. She also seemed to have something like a seizure a couple of times. They canceled the catscan because of her weakened condition.

My oldest sister and one of her kids are flying in from Omaha tonight. We’re all on alert as it seems unlikely she’ll get past this, but who knows how long she’ll hold out. We all do appreciate your prayers.
