NEW YORK (Reuters) - Television star Kelsey Grammer is back in hospital with an irregular heartbeat, two months after suffering a heart attack the actor has said nearly killed him, a celebrity news program reported on Monday.

The 53-year-old actor, best known from "Cheers" and his sitcom "Frasier," has checked into a hospital in New York after feeling faint, "Entertainment Tonight" said. "(Grammer) is being treated for an irregular heartbeat, which we've learned could be a result of medication he was taking for his recent heart attack," the program said in a statement.

This will hopefully be only a brief stay in hospital for Grammer, irregular heartbeats are mostly treated by stopping the heart, then restarting it.

My Dad had that done and was in and out of the hospital the same day.

Likely the statins and, or other crappola they put him on after his MI.

Here's wishing Mr. Grammer a speedy recovery.

Mrs. L knocked him on his butt once (quite accidentally) and said he was a very good sport about it.

“Mrs. L knocked him on his butt once (quite accidentally) and said he was a very good sport about it.”

Sounds like one of the Frasier scripts. Would be an interesting story for us all.

Not much to tell, really.

Mrs L used to work at a very, very upscale Sonoma County restaraunt that Mr. Grammer frequented. One day she was walking out of the kitchen and he was too close to the swinging doors.

BLAM! and he was flat on his back.

She helped him up and apologized profusely. He would have none of it, saying it was his fault for not watching where he was going and being too close to a door he obviously shouldn't have been that close to.

He thanked her for the fine meals, shook her hand, and that was it.

So that's my story of one of Mrs. L's brushes with the glitterati.

She also prepared a takeout meal for Bruce Willis and Demi Moore once, and quite regularly prepared lunches for Charles Schultz of "Peanuts" fame. He ate in the restaraunt where she worked at least once a week for years.

She cooked for Jean Claude Van Damme a few times.

The high point of her culinary career was preparing sushi for George W. Bush when he was running for President. He spoke at a private fund raiser at her current employer.

That's a bit of a resume enhancer as far as I'm concerned.

Although truth be told she said the Secret Service at far more of what was prepared than the soon to be President did.

This sounds like Afib. Most likely from a damaged heart. He needs a thorough workup to find out the true function of his heart and possibly put into cardiac rehab for several months.

What has he done or had done to prevent another heart attack? Statins won’t clear out any blockages. He’ll need a stent or by-pass most probably. And then followed carefully by a good cardiologist who knows what he is doing.

Do ya THINK it just might have something to do with his current heart problems?

No, I don’t! I’m not God. All I can do is to wish him well and I am praying for him.

There are some that suggest that stents act like tomato stakes, eventually closing the pathway again.

“Do ya THINK it just might have something to do with his current heart problems?”

Kelsey said it himself that his past “activities” could have been the reason for his heart attack.
