Quite a shame how the liberal Hollywood elite run the west coast. Attacking Jon Voight on his viewpoint while the Huffington Post has the usual liberal rats speaking out against President Bush and comparing him to Hitler??? What has happened to our country? I thought we had a first amendment.... Shameful how one is allowed and the other is not. WAKE UP AMERICA!!

How are they both not allowed...? Is some government agency coming down on Jon Voight? Or just the blowhards at the Huffnpuff Post?

Listen newbs, the First Amendment lets Hollywood be as apoplectic as they want to be, and they're even free to ostracize conservatives and ruin their careers if they want. If you actually read the First Amendment, it reads, "Congress shall make no law," not "Hollywood airheads shall like you." It's hypocritical and wrong, but it's not - and should not be - illegal.

I don't really get what you are saying here. The First Amendment only prohibits the GOVERNMENT from abridging the right to free speech. As far as I know, the government has not suppressed Jon Voights free speech rights. As for the pinko crowd in Hollywood discouraging opinions that differ with their left-wing agendas, they have that right. You have the right to buy or take control of a movie studio and only hire right-wingers. I wish you (or someone) would. There are other industries where openly expressing left-wing opinions would hurt your career. I used to work for a defense contractor. Flag-burning left-wingers didn't get too far.
I admire Voight for risking his career to express his views. It takes courage. I am always bewildered when a Hollywood actor is characterized as courageous for bashing Bush. Big deal.

The word “hero” is so overused.
