Grand Marshal named for Cup race at MIS: For the 43 drivers competing in the upcoming 3M Performance 400 Presented by Bondo at Michian International Speedway, their dream is to take home the checkered flag at the end of the day. But for 12-year-old Austin Irwin, who lives in Greenfield, MO, his dream is simply to attend the race and meet some of his NASCAR heroes. Irwin suffers from Wilm's Tumor, a tumor of the kidneys that strikes children more frequently than adults. Approximately 500 cases are diagnosed in the U.S. annually. It is highly responsive to treatment, with about 90% of patients surviving at least five years. During the race weekend, Irwin will meet Greg Biffle and Jeff Gordon, among other NASCAR stars, and deliver the "Gentlemen, start your engines" command for Sunday's race. He'll be joined by his parents and younger brother. Make-A-Wish could also be a winner at the 3M Performance 400 Presented by Bondo if Greg Biffle, driver of the #16 3M Ford, goes to Victory Lane. 3M and CARSTAR have pledged a $50,000 donation to Make-A-Wish in Biffle's name if he wins the race.
