I need help and advice for a celebrity chef ping list
Myself | 08/13/08 | Myself

Posted on 08/13/2008 7:06:42 PM PDT by Artemis Webb

I need advice in establishing a Celebrity chef or television chef ping list.

There is an existing food ping list though I'm not sure how active it is. This would not be a place for the exchange of recipes though if that were to happen I wouldn't have an issue with it.

The main purpose would be the diversion from more serious matters to discuss television food personalities and news of interest to "foodies": Rachel Ray, Anthony Bourdain, Bobby Flay, Mario Batali, Jacques Pépin, Paula Deen and so on.

Celebrity chef ping help.

I cannot remember the FReeper, but there is a chef on board.

Perhaps you can help.

Thank you for the pingy...this will be a fun list to be on.

I believe the FReeper is Angelo(followed by numbers)216 (or something like that). He had really great recipe; ideas; diet tips...and then his pings just kinda stopped. Hmmmmm...hope he is ok. And I hope my (slight) recollection helps a little.

I used to own a chain of 500 Grilled Cheese Sandwich stores. I was making a fortune. Then someone stole the recipe and the inventory I was carrying wiped me out.

Now I live in a Van down by the river!

Have I told you about my latest idea? A restaurant chain called PETA, People Eating Tasty Animals. We let the customer select the meal while it is still alive. Lobsters, chickens, rabbits, beef cows, etc. We let them kill it and butcher it. We prepare it to their liking. With the cow meal you need to bring a large group of friends. Beer is free on days that end in Y.

Have you hear Justin Wilson’s story about the Cajun restaurant that advertised it had the meat for any sandwich you could order, if not, they would pay you $50.

A Cajun walks in and orders an elephant ear sandwich. The waiter comes back 10 minutes later and tells the customer, “I’m sorry we cannot serve you that sandwich today.”

The Cajun says, “You don’t have the meat, then pay me the $50.”

The waiter answers, “Oh, sir, we got the meat, I garontee; we just ran out of dem great big buns we serve them on.”

"I miss Justin."

The first time I ever saw Justin Wilson his "shtick" got on my nerves and I changed the channel. It was only after he passed away and I saw some of his shows in reruns that I realized how gifted he was.

Hebert was walking down the road with a hawk slung over his shoulder. Boudreaux asks, “Hey Hebert, what you gonna do with that hawk?”

Hebert says, “I gonna make me some hawk Gumbo”.

Boudreaux asks, “What that hawk gumbo tastes like?”

Hebert says, “Bout the same as Owl gumbo”.

Fell in love with the Food Network when I was sick over New Years and stuck in bed — watched the Next Iron Chef marathon, then Kitchen Nightmares then Feasting on Asphalt. Totally hooked - there is so much more than recipes to this genre. Consider me in!

Good Gravy, timsbella! Were the channel up/down buttons on your remote broken?

You didn’t watch Cash Cab the whole time you were sick? Or Monk reruns? None of the judge shows?

I am one for the list as long as there are NO positive references to:

Gordon Ramsey (tired of him).

Emeril (over him).

Sarah Molton (No comment needed).

Kat (so what!!).

Bobbi Flay ( so over).

I would recommend all Giatta (sp?) all the time.

Just post what you just posted, Then in reply #1 ask who wants to join...

Go to note pad, make a pinlist file, and after each person asks to join, add them to your pinglist
