25. Is Texas Tech poised to become more than just an aerial circus?
It has taken time, but head coach Mike Leach has the Red Raiders in a position to vie for more than just the nation's passing title. Tech will again post gaudy numbers through the air, with Graham Harrell having all day to find receivers behind a gigantic offensive line. The difference this season is that the defense has the ingredients to be more than just the undercard, adding top JUCO recruits McKinner Dixon and Brandon SeSay to bolster the defensive line. Don't be floored if the Nov. 22 trip to Norman decides the South Division champion.
24. Was Kansas a one-hit wonder?
No, but that doesn't mean the Jayhawks are locked and loaded for another 12-win season and BCS bowl victory, either. Mark Mangino has the program at a point where it could win eight or nine games and play in the postseason for at least the next few seasons. However, the early departures of LT Anthony Collins and CB Aqib Talib sting, and the 2008 schedule won't be nearly as cushy. Last fall, Kansas missed Oklahoma, Texas and Texas Tech, and had a ridiculous non-conference slate. Now, the Sooners, 'Horns and Red Raiders are on the docket, and a Sept. 12 trip to South Florida will be its toughest non-league game this decade.

BTW, the answer to both questions is a responding "Yes!"
GUNS UP!
Make that a “resounding” yes.
I agree with what was said there about Michign State. They are on the upgrade. They really could have beaten Ohio State last year.
*ahem* TTU folk, moveth ye hence!
“RAIDER!”
God I hope so.
One question that was not included in these 25 questions concerns Auburn. They have a new Offensive Cooridinator from Troy University who runs the spread plus they have the Steelers defensive coordinator. They should be interesting to watch.
Auburn is about due. I’m a Vol guy but always enjoyed the Tigers coming to town in the late 70’s and 80’s. That game in 87’ during the rain was intense. Reggie Slack was the QB for the War Eagles I believe.
“POWER”
Michael Crabtree could have a shot at the Heisman as well...
Yes. The key game is Texas at TTU. Win that, and they win the south.
We will enjoy the season no matter what - but with a much better defense I hope this is a great season for us.
JoePa has done more for Penn State and Penn State Football than any other person.
The only negative thing I can say about Joe Paterno is that he seems to have eased up on the thugs playing for the team. He used to be anti-thug and didn’t tolerate that behavior from his players. He’s a bit more lenient now in that area. IMO.
However, we have 2 JUCO DE’s, a Miami transfer, pass rushing freak Williams, and 2 great athletes in the secondary. This defense is NOT like older Tech versions. Not to mention the new DC Ruffin. He is much more aggressive.
Wreck ‘Em Tech!
Get Yer Guns Up!
8 for me, go Bulls!
I think USC is gonna lose at least 3 games.....and UCLA is going to lose large against Tennessee.
I think you're right on both predictions. SC's offense has looked shaky at best this fall and UCLA, who was already looking to rebuild, has had a number of injuries this month (especially on an already thin offensive line).
I’m not sure if I see that happening...another poster in one of my CF threads mentioned that SC will lose a game they shouldn’t this year. Maybe that game is Oregon State???
Don't forget about that trip to Norman. We should be favored against Texas in Lubbock, but OU in Norman will be Big XII South Championship game.
I LOVE COLLEGE FOOTBALL!!!!
GO DAWGS!!!!!!!!! 2009 NATIONAL CHAMPIONS!!!!!
I LOVE COLLEGE FOOTBALL!!!!
GO DAWGS!!!!!!!!! IT’S OUR YEAR, NATIONAL CHAMPIONS!!!!
Welcome back and great to see you again. How has your summer been? Looking forward next Thursday to UConn Huskies, co-Big East Champs with West Virgina to start the new season up with Hostra over at the “Rent” in East Hartford, CT.
GO UCONN HUSKIES!
Suprised no questions about UConn. Oh well.
Could this season be just as exciting as last season.
Opps! Forgot the ?
I notice that, according to #9, Florida has a trip to Gainesville coming up this year...Wow, that’ll be a tough one.
I always loved playing TN. The trip to Knoxville was a lot of fun. (By the way, we are the Tigers. We cry “War Eagle!”)Also, loved playing them in Birmingham years ago. Can’t wait to see what this new system has in store for Auburn. There have been a lot of changes the past few years.
GO WVU!!!!!!!!
I’m a Vol fan first, but I am also a fan of Coach Paul Johnson (this is his 1st year at Georgia Tech). I live just outside of Atlanta, so I’m going to catch a few Georgia Tech games (in addition to some BIG ORANGE football.
WVU will be having LOTS of fun this year since they will be visiting UConn at the “Rent”. Should be for a FUN get together as UConn has not forgotten what HAPPENED to them last year.
I know it should be fun game indeed.
