My wife and I are traveling to Santa Fe, NM (pleasure trip) from Sep. 6 to Sep. 14. Suggestions?

Learn spanish.
Avoid the border.
Hepatitis shots.
Hepatitis shots? Really? I had one about 40 years ago-probably worn off! LOL!
Nice shot, Phil-dunno if I’ll climb it or not, but I’ll sure take a picture...thanks!
I’d recommend doing bandelier national monument for a morning hike; very interesting ancestral pueblo ruins, having lunch at the atomic cafe in los alamos, then checking out the bradbury science museum in the afternoon.
Santa Fe’s a great town, although it’s a little silly and pretentious. If you love food, it’s a great place to visit, especially with green chile season peaking in a couple of weeks.
I’m in south florida being invaded by illegals. Hepatitis cases going through the roof. My father in law just got diagnosed with it. Every disease we’ve conquered with vaccines are coming back. I’d seriously consider it.
Ghost Ranch
"Ghost Ranch includes a famous paleontological site preserving Triassic dinosaurs. Fossil bones were found here as early as 1885. In 1947 the paleontologist Edwin H. Colbert documented the discovery of over a thousand well-preserved fossilized skeletons of a small Triassic dinosaur called Coelophysis in a quarry here. In 2007, fossil remains of Dromomeron romeri, one of the archaic group of animals called 'basal dinosauromorphs,' were found in the Hayden Quarry. [1]"
Thank you very much-I’ll do all those. We were looking for something to do after Bandelier, anyway. We will be at Bandelier when they open the gates, and had planned on being out by early afternoon anyway, so the cafe and the museum should fill out the day quite nicely!

JMHO. I found the food in New Mexico very boring.

Info and links to the medical nightmare being created by illegals due to their lack of vaccines and inoculations.
Tuberculosis is another big problem.
Fascinating stuff-THANKS!
WOW! Very sobering-thanks...
Also, doing the cubres rail trip is as all-day affair with a long trip up to chama and back. Maybe on the way back, you might consider spending a couple of hours soaking in the polls at the ojo caliente spa. It’s sort of a hippy hangout, but it’s pretty neat.
The Viet Nam Veterans National Memorial in Angel Fire is worth a few more miles . Check their web site .
I have the train trip booked-leaving Antonito, CO at 10am, going to Chama, NM, then back to Antonito on a bus. We’ll look into the spa-I love the baths...thanks!
I stopped there in late May (don’t remember the exact day-it was colder than, well...) very inspiring. Thanks!
Visit Soda Dam and Battleship Rock if you have time.

Also, I would recommend Dixon’s Apple Farm.
Thanks for the links-much appreciated advice from all you folks! Going to bed now, but I’ll be up early to check out all the advice. Many thanks to all!
I wouldn't advise soaking in anything with a bunch of hippies.
LOL! Thanks!
ping.
Bandelier is an interesting place to visit. As well as the Pueblo, there’s an fine circular hike going through desert, woodlands with streams etc. IIRC the hike took only a couple of hours, but it was 45 years ago when I was there and details are a bit hazy.
BUMP! (for the day shift)
You might try to see Chaco Canyon. The Anasazi culture and disappearance of same is fascinating. Here are some links.
Chaco Culture National Historical Park
Mesa Verde in Colorado is also well worth visiting.
