I hope your joking. The speech was poorly written and delivered flatly. I was disappointed. Boring.

Hate to say this, but the speech exceeded my expectations. The guy’s a smooth operator, for sure.
“remove dependence on middle east oil in 10 yrs”?
Wow.
Dunno how feasible it is but I liked the sound of that.

Not ONCE did he give credit for taking down the biggest threat in the middle east, the other Hussein. Not once did he say that this is the greatest country in the world (oh, no — that might make it look like the current administration has hit an ace on Iraq and held serve on all the rest). This speech really pissed me off.
What an a-hole. His planet-of-the-apes wife pissed me off by nodding knowingly throughout the whole BS diatribe.
I will work and contribute tirelessly to smack this manchurian candidate down hard. I love this country and will NOT sit still while a pipsqueak pretender makes it look like every other BS socialist country — feckless, effete and Godless — that I so richly despise.
Go, Johnny. Beat this creep!

Thanks a lot. As a Dallas fan, I was waiting to see the midnight replay on NFLN and thought it safe to peruse political threads without someone loudly posting a preseason score.

Cowboys 16 Minnesota 10 I didn't know Oklahoma State was playing the Golden Gophers.

Dunno how feasible it is but I liked the sound of that. I agree. Good speech and I'm glad to hear the strong message sent to the Saudis et al. I hope they heard that loud and clear.
I too don't see how he's going to deliver. No dis to Obama but, I don't see how anyone can deliver on that promise. Normally I'd say don't make a promise you know you can't keep, but in this case, I think the message was for overseas ears, not ours.

so i guess peyton is a one-hit wonder too? eli won a ring a year before his big bro did.
if the giants miss the play-offs the next 3-4 years, i'll say you might be right. but the season hasn't even started yet.
i'm going to the opener on thursday. can't wait! go blue!

That he will promise the Moon is something that many a girl should be familiar with on Prom night, but she's not going to get the ring from him the next morning.

Ok, the O introduces an Energy Plan that will do nothing but increase our dependence on ME Oil by blocking any serious effort to develop our own resources while wasting hundreds of billions on wholly technically impossible “Alternative Energy” schemes, then promises you to “End ME Oil dependence” and you two swoon?
He is out and out LYING to you. His plan does exactly the opposed of what he promised.

i mean that eli won a ring in his 4th year, while it took peyton 5 years, i believe.
but yes, in terms of calendar years peyton won first.

well heck, last year 3 of the 4 NFC East teams made the play-offs. and philly is going backwards, i think. it will be one of the strongest divisions in football. we will all beat up on eachother and then beat teams in other divisions.

Jeeeeez, yeah, it sounds great. All you need to do in the meantime is figure out how to come up with the 15 bucks a gallon gas will cost to get to work so you can pay the ^&^%#$% tax increases.

I wouldn’t make too much of it. What you saw tonight was just an overhyped show featuring a lot of second-stringers. Honestly, was there a person out on that stadium field that you would trust when things really matter?
But enough about the Democratic convention...
To: MNJohnnie
I didn’t say it would work. I said he’s sending a message to the Saudis. I don’t think he can deliver but at least he’s saying it.
I wish someone our side would get tough with the Saudis instead of crawing under the sheets with them.
