We have been told that Biden has had a lot of experience and expertise in Foreign Policy, but what are his accomplishments?

Can some one list them for me?

Does stealing a speech from a British politician count as “foriegn policy”?

He’s held some hearings as chmn of the Sen. Foreign Affairs Committee.

Shortly after 9/11 he suggested buying Muslim good will by cutting a $200 million check for Iran.

That’s it.

I’d really like to know this as well. The media keeps hammering this talking point every chance they get, but I’m not sure exactly what Biden has done during his career that had an noticeable impact of any sort. Someone needs to challenge this and make them lay out his qualifications in concrete terms.

If being on a committee where you get to hear speeches for couple of decades makes you an expert then I must be overqualified for a VP position, since I subscribe and regularly read Foreign Policy, Foreign Affairs, The Economist, and American Spectator.

He probably opposed the Gulf Wars and Gitmo. That is all that is required on the left.

Do photo-ops and vacations count? Or, does there need to be some substance?

I admit it, I'm at a loss to name anything.

Well, he did just claim he was pregnant with a baby with Down’s Syndrome and he went ahead and gave birth to child the child. And this is while he was a prisoner in North Vietnam, so that counts for something!

As a long time sufferer by Duke Biden’s malevolent rule, I am in a unique position to weigh in on his foreign policy qualifications. There are too many to list in this short posting. However, there are a few most worthy of note: 1) he went to Mexico on Spring Break, 2)his favorite place for skiing is the Swiss Alps and 3)he can insult foreign people in several languages.

With that hair, he must be an albino Oompa-Loompa.

Wikipedia isn’t much help...

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Joe_Biden

He has chaired the Senate foreign relations committee for a year & a half and was on the committee prior to that. He helped Klinton get the USA involved in the Balkans and wrote the most idiotic proposal I’ve heard of that called for Iraq: “...federalizing Iraq and giving Kurds, Shiites, and Sunnis “breathing room” in their own regions.” That would have been a mess!

a) opposed the MX missile;
b) opposed Star Wars (our principle tool for breaking the Soviet Union);
c)opposed helping the contras and giving aid to El Salvador against the Communists;
d)did vote for the Gulf War (a broken clock, etc.)
d)did vote for the Iraq War (political convenience)

Biden basically has a gift for forming long winded syntheses of whatever the latest calls for blaming America and for appeasement are from the left-wing elite.

I saw him go to China twice and speak nonstop for 1.5 hours. I thought my head was going to explode with his droning, but it was an ACHIEVEMENT any human could prattle on for that long, and it was in a FOREIGN country.

In the immortal words of John "Christmas in Cambodia" Kerry, we have to be nuanced.

Normally, being chair of the Sen. Foreign Affairs Committee would provide one with in depth info and background about what is going on.

However, the important point is what one does with this info. Experience is never a substitute for bad judgement or character flaws.

Since Biden voted against every war since the Punic, he will have a hard time crawling out of the whole.
