Randy Couture, longing to resume his fight career and wearying of the drain his legal battle with the Ultimate Fighting Championship was having on his bank account, settled all outstanding lawsuits with the company Tuesday and agreed to defend his heavyweight championship on Nov. 15 against Brock Lesnar as the main event of UFC 91 at the MGM Grand Garden in Las Vegas.
The 45-year-old Couture, who submitted his resignation to the UFC on Oct. 11 in a bid to force a fight with ex-PRIDE heavyweight champion Fedor Emelianenko, said he was satisfied with the legal resolution.
It was a resounding victory for the UFC and its outspoken president, Dana White, who got Couture to extend his deal from two to three fights without guaranteeing Couture a fight with Emelianenko. ...
Lesnar, who was largely ignored for much of the 70-minute call, got irritated at the steady stream of questions regarding Emelianenko and lashed out at the media.

I just think that this is too early for Lesnar to take on top ranked fighters.
How much does Lesnar outweigh Couture?
I am really starting to dislike Dana White, who could screw up two careers at once depending on the type of fight that these two men wage.
Brock weighs in at 270, while Randy mostly fights at 220.
Brock either punches him out quickly or learns new ways to hurt all over.
I am a Brock fan, watched him when he wrestled at the u of m. But Couture is going to destroy him. This is nuts.
I'm always amazed by how well fedor handles freaks, remember him with Choi the Korean giant?
This one could easily hit 1.5 million PPV.
And I expect that White will earn more than both the fighters combined, which is why Couture started his protest against UFC.
Not that I doubt his training, but what is innovative and different. Just interested because I like to keep up with that sort of stuff.
I’m a Brock fan too. I think you’re right. Couture is going to school him.
It won’t be as bad as when Couture was on Pros vs. Joes submitting Joes (Randy isn’t a submission specialist) but I think he will be a brick wall to Brock’s advancement.
It's from his “wrestling” days, and it's nowhere near his complete workout, but it's a good glimpse. The thing with him is that he's been doing that kind of stuff for so many years that his strength foundation is unreal. Not that the other guys aren't too, but he's just so much more physical and extremely agile for his size. If he came after me, I'd just kill myself to at least deprive him of some fun and exercise.
DTV also did a “profile” on him before the Herring fight, and part of it showed his workout. But it was on PPV, and I don't know if you can get video of it.
He used his money from wrestling to set himself up with a nice farm in Minnesota, and built a huge gym on his property where he spends about 8-10 hours a day. He's scary strong. Other MMA heavyweights are gonna have to step it up if they want to survive w/him in the game.
I can’t wait to see Thiago Alves fight Diego Sanchez.
When Couture survived the first round, I thought he’d take the fight for sure. But alas, Lesnar is a friggin’ BEAST. Now nobody cares if Couture fights Fedor. Let Randy retire and bring on Fedor/Lesnar!
A $4.8 million gate? Add in PPV and Dana White can smile while he cusses up a storm.
Going to be an interesting 2009 in MMA.
