Then increase legal immigration by two million a year, and there won’t be much of a problem with illegal immigration.

First it will be two million. Then five, then seventeen. And pretty soon "the last amnesty" will become the forerunner of another one, just like after the IRCA of 1986 was passed.

The U.S. has the right to limit and control the flow across its borders, particularly from jurisdictions where there is lawlessness. It's a matter of self-defense and a guard against potential invasion.
