How many of readers here, honestly, know what is Bush Doctrine. I mean, if you ask others whether preemptive attack is a part of Bush Doctrine, many will say yes. Now close book, without hint, what is Bush doctrine? I dont think many can answer this question. I just dont understand why Gibson likes this sort of academic questions.
Let me give you an example, use Bush Doctrine site:www.nytimes.com and search on google, you will only find 658 results. If you search for President Bush site:www.nytimes.com, you will find about 183,000 results. If this doctrine is so well-known, why it doesnt appear more frequently?
Frankly speaking, I dont think Palin is doing very well in this interview, but neither does Gibson.
In addition to my former example of how many times Bush Doctrine appears on the nytimes website and how many times President Bush appears. Here is another example: Bush Doctrine doesnt appear on Wikipedia until Sep 11 8PM (apparently after the interview is showed on the ABC): http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Bush_Doctrine&action=history
And she answered the question appropriately.
well is the Bush Doctrine something the left created to name any Bush policy? or is it something REAL?
the left media annoy me to no end....these stupid trick questions. i am sure this will happen repeatedly in the debates. only to the Republican candidate.

Have you ever felt the tingle of lighting bolts?
Am I IBTZ?
She did great!
I remembered what it was just because I have followed the WOT news so much. I remember what the Powell Doctrine was too.
I like the FR Doctrine, where Noobs post to threads for a while before they bust loose with a Vanity on their first day.
I thought the FR Doctrine was to post without reading the thread. ;)
If the central part of you subject is Iraq, Google up “flypaper theory”. It works.
It was a gotcha question, obviously.
If she said yes or no, they would have filled in the blanks about whichever interpretation of whatever Bush Doctrine they selected, and stuck it on her.
She was correct to tell him to define it.
It was shown in another thread and on another site that Charlie Gibson doesn’t agree with himself on the definition of the Bush Doctrine.

Simple...if there is a problem in the country, world, solar system, galaxy, or known or unknown universe, the liberals define the "Bush Doctrine" as...
It's Bush's Fault
See?
9/11: Bush's Fault
Katrina (the storm itself, btw): Bush's Fault
Global Warming: Bush's Fault
High gas prices: Bush's Fault
Supernova's in galaxies far, far away: Bush's Fault...
I like the FR Doctrine,
I thought the FR Doctrine was to post without reading the thread. ;)
And not check for grammer OR spelling.

Yes I signed up today. But let me tell you why. I tried to publish the comments above on NYT and can’t get published (at least I didn’t see my comments published), that’s why I turn to freerepublic. I am an independent who read NYT and National Review, watch Fox and CNN. But this time, I am disgusted by the treatment of Mrs Palin from MSM.
As I said, I felt this was an unfair Gotcha question. And apparently some left wing guys just tried to update wiki to make Mrs Palin look ignorant. (The definition of Bush Doctrine doesn’t appear on wikipedia after the interview.)
0:^)
But FR as a political web site of the right would have is posted all over it if it was the common term ...is it?
The “Bush Doctrine” gets the liberal anti-war idiots in a lather, but if they don’t like it, what is the alternative?
The Carter/Obama doctrine: Plead with the United Nations and wait to get hit.
I agree, it was an unfair question, as were many of them. I was pleased to see her pin him down on a definition before answering. So many things have been blamed on Bush that it should be instinctive when answering questions about Bush to tally specifics.
BTW, you passed the Noob test. Congratulations!
You did post some interesting information.
Welcome aboard, at this time of year we are very careful of newbie’s.
The best newbie post in a long time. The wikipedia entry was probably added by ABC after they realized that nobody knew what the “Bush Doctrine” meant.
You signed up just today to post this and inform us about what you think?
Methinks you might be a troll or poser.
