How did this happen?
Today I downloaded and installed Mozilla Firefox 3.0. Mozilla had been nagging me for some time to do this, so I finally figured that today I had time, and I went ahead with it. I have been a Firefox user for a few years and have had zero trouble with it.
As I was messing around with it late this evening I found that the homepage icon on the toolbar was connected to "My Barack Obama.com". Imagine my disgust. I have NEVER visited this site in my life, and I certainly did not choose this as my homepage. I can only conclude that it came pre-loaded as the default homepage. Has anyone else had this somewhat shocking experience? Is this SOP for the Mozilla products?
Plus it made a $50 deduction from your next paycheck for Hairplugs International and Associates.
As the old saw goes, “just because you’re paranoid doesn’t mean they’re not out to get you.”
Cheers
TBT
Maybe you have been cursed.
I installed Firefox on my new laptop a few months ago and it was fine. I set it to Drudge and have had no problems at all.
I suspect that the ex-Mr. OTTB did it as a practical joke when I was out of the room, in an effort to make me crazy(er). Or just because he really likes Obama. I’m trying to get a confession out of him before I go off on the Mozilla people.
I just installed it with no problems. In any case, it’s my understanding that the Mozilla people, unlike those at Google, are not monolithically left-wing.
Was the 0bama link in Bookmarks -> Bookmarks Toolbar -> Most Visited?
If so, Firefox3 may have grabbed the address from an older copy of Firefox.
Those are dynamic. They will change over time.
There doesn't seem to be anything nefarious. :)
The ex-Mr. OTTB, cackling hysterically, has admitted that he did this when my back was turned, on grounds that I “need some political education.” He of course is voting for Obama. (There’s a reason I divorced the idiot, and this isn’t it, but I should think this would be grounds for divorce and mucho alimony in and of itself! Maybe I can go back to court and get awarded spousal support on grounds that my ex is a liberal moron.)
OK, it was pretty funny. I told him he should have had a video camera to record the expression on my face and the hissing, spitting outrage when I saw that website and those big flapping ears come up.
I download the upgrade about a week ago and my homepage stayed the same. They are out to get YOU.
Tell ex-Mr. OTTB that only terrorist-friendly voters support Obama, and most of them have little weeners, lol
If it wasn’t small before it will be. I hired an African witch doctor to put a spell on all males who vote for 0bama to make their wieners fall off.
Whoa there! I woulda hired that guy but I didn’t want to get close enough to give him the money.
My toolbar has BarackObamaSucks.com on it.
I told him that. He says he thinks you got the curse backwards, it's having the opposite effect.
Download Google Chrome. Much better browser than Firefox.
No, that couldn't have been the guy. That's a picture of my ex. I told you I had some good reasons for divorcing him.
I tried. It wouldn't go. I have an antique computer.
