Second, I wasn’t being sarcastic either.

I figure you to be a ‘grown’ child of a divorce and still hate that one or both of your parents have some how found happiness even without your approval.

So I don’t really think that John has to get his kids to approve his love interests at this point. Not really any of their business and only a petty mind would think it is.
