Birds fly, tortoises crawl and politicians lie, particularly when they feel cornered. That's the natural order of things. Big deal. I don't waste too much indignation on it.
But what irks me, and should concern us all, is not the everyday disregard for this or that particular truth but the very assault on the idea that there is such a thing as truth at all.
~ snip ~
As believers in the old-fashioned idea of truth, conservatives generally have found postmodernism distasteful and have vociferously protested its emergence.

So, what is the Obama camp's use of threats and intimidation by law enforcement officials to completely silence criticism of "The One"? They're just silencing that "old fashioned idea of the truth" about his past associations and activities with the help of the news media. Should that "concern us all" too, Mr. Rodriguez?
The gobblidogook these idiots have swallowed is startling and astounding...and also unbelievable dangerous to this nation.
Well, here's some truth for them...

There’s “truth” and then there are facts.
So the new cover-up for “no media bias” is “nothing is false and nothing is true,” eh? They’re resorting to a liberal idea to decry the notion that they’re liberals, and they expect us to believe it.
Absolutely hilarious!
And they will continue to do so as long as We The People tolerate it!
what are you pencil neck journalist going to do? Hump my leg and piss on my bushes you filthy curs?
Actually it’s moral relativism that’s dangerous.
Why write a story about something that doesn't exist?
Signed,
Confused.
Good work.
Thank goodness we don’t have to depend exclusively on the self-proclaimed “professional journalists” to research and record events for history.
Gregory purposefully missed the point that what makes the NY Times story unfair is not that they reported Fannie Mae payments to a McCain advisor, but that they so blithely “forget” to report way greater payments to Obama himself (2nd recipient of Fannie and Freddie money behind Christopher Dodd). Kudos to McCain for making the guilty media pay a price in loss of credibility.
-No Thanks-
So your advice Gregory is to shut up and take it? Ok.
Say, speaking of dangerous games Greg, have you checked your mailbox today for a pink slip?
For our journalism needs conservatives want the facts, not opinion. If you can detect the reporter's opinion, it isn't journalism. No one pays for propaganda the same as no one pays to see advertising. The old business model won't work if you replace all content with biased reporting then attempt to charge for privilege. This is why the MSM outlets are now failing.
Changes needed are hire more non-leftist writers and editors. News articles should be written by several writers and editors of different biases. It should be enough of a team effort that a narcissistic vanity byline would be too long to include.
Exactly.
How do you know a media reporter is liberal biased?
They claim that Bias doesn’t exist in the media.
Since when is truth relative?
Sounds like a derivative of Chicken Little to me
Hey, enjoy the funny side — no, the hilarious side! Rodriguez (sp?) waves his hands frantically and babbles on about “truth” for paragraphs unending, but he never once asserts that the New York Times is NOT fully “in the tank” for Barack Obummer. We do attack the media unfairly — because it’s so wonderfully easy to do!
Postmodernistic thinking is not just distasteful; it’s pathetic. Example: “All persons are created equal. All cultures are created by persons. Therefore, all cultures are equal.” Bull, but it continues: “Because all cultures are equal, multiculturalism must, per se, be ‘good’.” This is not only bull; it’s very sad, in that multiculturalism, like acceptance of homosexuality, may not cause a society’s decline into decadence, but does signal the decline.
I love truth, and long for a past that apparently never existed where journalists loved truth and would report the facts whether they helped or hurt people they liked.
“Birds fly, tortoises crawl and politicians lie, particularly when they feel cornered. That’s the natural order of things. Big deal. I don’t waste too much indignation on it.”
‘How can you tell when a democRAT or a maggot infected mediot pretending to be a journalist is lying.’
Whenever, their lips move, they write something, do double dipping voting or vote after they are dead.
When truth is not relevant in the fishwrap business, how can we determine if a so called journalist, who is attacking our side, is really a maggot infected gay agenda pusher.
Simple, put his/her/its name into a Yahoo search like this:
Gregory Rodriquez + gay and enter for the search:
http://search.yahoo.com/search?ei=utf-8&fr=slv8-hptb5&p=Gregory%20Rodriguez%20%20%2b%20gay&type=
Usually, after you do this search, you get a real good look at who is trying to pass their lies and bs as their version of truth.
Either of them taken out of context can skew perceptions and cause the uninformed to believe a lie.
Ah, as Paul Harvey says, “now the rest of the story”. Ha.
Well, I think there was a time when more journalists were interested in presenting facts that were conducive to accurate understanding of what actually occurred.
Too many today seem to practice a “selective facts” type of of “truth telling” that leads to false perceptions. “Perception is reality” doncha know?
Yahoo search! Yet another keyword to add to “prochoice” to use for quick and dirty litmus testing!! Great post!!!
Roger that!
Especially when either (truth/facts) are withheld and opinion is provided (in the guise of news.)
The left is big on emotion, not so fond of facts and logic.
Most excellent GD...
There was at least one other topic showing another such hatchet job by a partisan media shill. It’s part of the Demwit campaign to plant memes.
