There is a lot of activity on wikipedia surrounding the Berg lawsuit. After noticing 25 edits in the last 2 days for section "Allegations against US presidential candidates regarding citizenship", I discovered a number of questionable citations that needed scrutiny.
I successfully deleted an extraordinarily poor example of a citation today. After checking later I found the same citation was re-added by user Tradewyn. I wonder why they are so concerned?
The article is here.

Are you suprised? Those people tied themselves into knots over the Edwards/mistress/hotel thing, for cripe’s sake.
Allegations against US presidential candidates regarding citizenshipof Barack Obama, who is the Democrat party nominee in 2008, has been challenged in court [9] (Berg v. Obama et al., filed in U.S. District Court for Eastern Pennsylvania) to prove that he was born in the United States. Obama answered the complaint by filing a motion to dismiss the complaint, arguing that Berg did not have standing.
As of October 4, 2008, the question of whether or not Obama was born in the United States has not been decided by a court of law. The web site FactCheck.org .[10] displays a electronic image of what purports to be a Certificate Of Live Birth (COLB) in the name of Obama, which is not an original birth certificate. However, Berg’s court papers[11] explain the issue in great detail and cites sources alleging that Obama was born in Kenya. The credibility of Factcheck.org in this matter is in question [12] pending a court ruling.
It is important to note that, according to ‘Yes To Democracy’: “The burden of proof is on Mr. Berg, and he’s built a house of cards.” [13]
The following is quoted from the ‘Yes To Democracy’ website [14]
The ultra right-wing “news” site “World Net Daily” has an article on the Berg lawsuit [15] . They’re not kind.
Philip J. Berg, a former member of Pennsylvania’s Democratic State Committee and former deputy attorney general of Pennsylvania, filed the lawsuit this week in U.S District Court, asking the court to declare Obama ineligible for the presidency and to prevent him from running for the position.
However, a WND investigation has found that at least part of Berg’s lawsuit relies on discredited claims.
You know you don’t have a case when even World Net Daily says the claims are “discredited”. Especially when WND is claiming that the COLB is legit:
A separate WND investigation into Obama’s birth certificate utilizing forgery experts also found the document to be authentic. The investigation also revealed methods used by some of the bloggers to determine the document was fake involved forgeries, in that a few bloggers added text and images to the certificate scan that weren’t originally there.
Further information on Philip J. Berg can also be found in the ‘Yes To Democracy’ article ‘Wingnuts away! Phillip J. Berg- a crackpot and his lawsuit!’ [16]
“Someone is actively monitoring this article folks.”
They know what they are doing to the people of this country. That’s you. And me.
I refuse to use wikipedia - no credibility. It would be interesting to follow their funding.
I remember that Wikipedia went public with the discovery there were a lot of changes to tje Sarah Palin wiki entry the day of the her VP announcement.
I wonder if Drudge could get in on this. That Palin Wikipedia story was big news... this time the Obama campaign is involved big time.
Why can’t America see the real doctor-signed birth certificate? It sounds so simple. A grinning slick-talker has applied for a job. The resume’ is blank. The references are corrupt, terrorists and racists. Can’t the employer at least demand proof of elegibility for the job?
There is only one question at this point.
What is Bambi hiding?
the wikipedia article reads like a case arguing that the requirement for citizenship should not even exist
I don't have time to look up the article you're referring to, but I do remember it. The lazy WND reporter was accepting uncritically the pro-Obama "FactCheck.org" version of things regarding the COLB. A search of the FR archives will show that there are many problems with the Fact Check analysis.
