"V" is finally coming back to television, but it just will have little to do with the hit 1980s miniseries that helped redefined science-fiction on television.
ABC has ordered a new adaptation of the lizard-populated show with Scott Peters, a co-creator of USA Network's "The 4400," despite the fact that "V" creator Kenneth Johnson continues to work on a continuation of the 1980s outing.

My father died waiting for this.
I’m not kidding.
This remake will clearly cast the aliens as misunderstood victims of the white man’s racism.
Instead of coming to Earth to steal our resources, they will come here to save us from global warming.
Talk about rapid response. Brilliant! I esp. like the ‘O’ logo incorporated into the poster.
Actually the series has a kind of creepy similarity with the Obama campaign, when you think about it.
The series was just bad. But just think, had the series been a success, would we have had the "Nightmare on Elm Street" series?
I don't know if we need a remake of it.
For one thing, the whole thing was supposed to be Nazis in space. The libs in Hollywood would probably have that lost of them. Or worse, they'll portrayed the Republicans as the Nazis.
The remake of Battlestar Galactica may be many things, but it ISN'T an actual remake and doesn't even have the spirit of the original going for it. (For some of you, that may not be a BAD thing). If you liked the original "V", you might not like a remake.
It was always supposed to be a parallel to how Hitler took over.
Hitler was a socialist. If you don’t believe me, look up the acronym for NAZI.
“Vox Day” of WorldNetDaily clued me in to this.
LOL! Love the “O” in “Our Friends”
Thank you!
Great reply! Well, Obama’s a snake in human skin so he should fit right in with the aliens in V.
On another note, Jane badler (?) who played the alien leader was smokin hot though.
I liked the miniseries too.
Didn’t care for the rest.
The first time I saw one of them lizards....whoa!! (I was 12 or so at the time and wasn’t supposed to be watching it, but my brother and I snuck to a tv)
Except for the fact it had some hot women, the miniseries was horrible. Was it actually a “hit”?
Back then it was.. Remember there was only 3 major networks and not a whole of cable stations back then..
I had a major crush on Diana (Jane Badler)
.
V =
“We are not lizards, We are your friends”
.
Whats this, arts mimicking reality?
We already have lizards about to rule mankind.
Frankly I see an ulterior motive in this like Hollywood again trying to brainwash the public.
I think the main message is that we better be careful or we could lose our freedoms no matter what..
I still remember that scene where she was nekkid but was washing in a tub full of snakes. I wanted to be one of those snakes..:)
I remember there were ads all over the place for it, so I did tune it in but it just seemed so “soap operaish” I couldn’t stand to sit there and watch the whole thing. I did watch dribs and drabs. I did like what they did to their voices and I always wondered if that baby turned out to be a lizard or not.
The series was a bust big time...
Then you talking about the final battle.. The baby turned out to be half human and half reptile with amazing powers..
Yeah they will be coming here to serve man..
The "re-imagined" thing still has the title. Moore, Eick, and Sci-Fi Channel (owned by NBC) trashed the original and turned it into liberal propaganda. They still belittle the original as "1970's disco cheese" and if one doesn't agree that their version is superior, one is attacked with "You just don't get it".
Oh, I "got it" alright, but not in the way they wanted. I really, REALLY didn't know how Socialist Hollywood and academia had become until I read a bunch of crap that the critics and academia wrote in praise of the "re-imagined" thing.
They're using the same tactics with Obama's campaign.
The "remake" of V is probably going to be the same deconstruction, postmodern, Socialist nonsense with the resistance against the Visitors shown as terrorists.
Rut Ro! does ABC know something about O-Bomber that we don’t?
Huh. I consider the new BSG to be one of the greatest shows ever. And I agree with their assessment of the original.
LOL! You, my FRiend, are a prophet. :)
The Lizard HQ building was a new building on Rosecrans Blvd in Manhattan Beach.
It was a “space-agey” building created for Mattel's Personal Computer line - Mattel's HQ is a few blocks away. It even had a Mattel Electronics name on it for a short while.
The PC industry rapidly sorted itself into IBM/clones and Macs, and the building was rented out. It was a funny building to walk around in, no 90 degree corners, strange elevator locations, and mirror image spaces/corridors ever where. It was easy to accidentally walk in a circle.
I wonder if they will use the same building, it is still there....

I always thought Obama reminded me more of Apophis.
“We are your friends.”
I’ll give the latest re-make of “V” half a season before it’s ‘re-tooled’ after which, it’ll probably crash and burn.
Sat through about half of ABC’s new ‘Life on Mars’ and will still stick with the BBC version.
Jack.
You just don’t get it.
I'd give that distinction to Babylon 5.
Just awesome. Thanks!

There is already one reptile in the House of Representatives.
It’s a fact.
I’d like to be on your Sci-Fi ping list.
Thank you!
Regards,
So do I. BSG is fabulous and I love it. Can’t wait to see how it all ends.
