Skip to comments.Vanity: I bought my Glock 19 today, and I simply wanted to say thank you!

I know I posted a thread a few days ago about a handgun (below), and my interest in a Glock 19, and I sought your thoughts and comments.
Knowing I tried it before I bought it!
Well I did my research and I went and bought the G19! That's a freakin' awesome handgun!
I took my Dad and he fired it too! And he was amazed by it (He owns a 1911 and I know that's no comparison, I know that).
I just wanted to say thanks for all of your comments! I tried a Sig and some others, but I'm sticking with what I bought! That's a freakin' awesome handgun!
So thank you all! Now I need to get me a great rifle!
Does anyone have any thoughts on Armalite (AR-10)or S&W M&P?
Welcome to the G family.
I have a Model 23. Have been considering a 27 for quite some time but keep buying musical gear! I don’t think an amplifier will provide much in the way of self-defense though.
Congrats! I recently picked up a Smith and Wesson M&P 45 ACP.
I bought over 1000 rounds yesterday for four different handguns.
Ping - - - Did I miss anyone?
Congrats! I bought my first gun today- a Ruger.
Wanted to get it just in case Obama wins and tries a gun grab.
Congratulations!! I LOVE my Glock 19 too.
It’s an easy weapon to love ;^)
Have fun! Be safe!
I'd say so.. :) :)
My local Ranch Supply and Outfitter was selling all ammo for 10% off. I stocked up on everything!
I’m sorry Gramma. ;-)
Hey. I don’t HAVE a glock. (yet)
You must apologize to you-know-who! :)
OH....FRmail in a sec, OK?
That’s the ONE reason why I bought this Glock!
I didn’t want to spend alot....and I wanted a Safety for my fiancee, so a GLock was out of the question.
And congrats to both of you!!
I’ll be going out this weekend with my dad to shoot, and my brother when he gets home from Fort Bragg.
.....and hopefully my fiancee as she has never shot a gun. I grew up with them, but have not really shot for 20 years or so.
I have had a Glock 22 .40 cal for years and it has never failed to go bang when I pulled the trigger. I have more expensive and exotic guns but the 22 is still my favorite go to gun. Congratulations. Keep shooting and practicing. I quit counting at 2k rounds a long time ago.
I keep hearing about a really cool convenience store but I can't find a local franchise! It's called "ATF" which stands for "Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms." That's what I call convenience!
WalMart, believe it or not. $19.97 for 100 rounds of Winchester FMJ target ammo. 50 round JHP self-defense packs are obviously more, but still quite reasonable by today's standards.
My Brother has the G26 and he loves it! I needed somethig to better fit my hand, and the G19 does just that!
That is an awesome gun!
My Brother is jealous and now wants to come have some fun!
I joined the local gun club and shooting range, and training!
Should be fun!
Excellent choice, to both you and the fella who started this thread. I don’t have a Glock but I do have 2 Ruger revolvers and a number of other guns.
Enjoy your liberty!
Till I brought along some extra ears for her.
(No, it wasn't out here in the indoor range for those of you reading this and gasping and rolling your eyes and all that....)
Let me know how she did, OK? She'll probably have the time of her life!!!! :) :)
enjoy.... I know I would.
Gun Shop - Totally! They know what they are talking about!
A Pawn Shop - You don’t know what’s happened to that gun before you get it!
Just my opinion! For what it’s worth!
Go ye therefore and purchase high-capacity magazines, for they may not always be obtainable.
Also don’t scrimp on leather (holsters).

Depends upon what you put through it and how loud it's cranked up.
I love my Glock. I can’t hardly hold the Sig steady - too heavy for me.
“What is the best type of shop to buy 9mm rounds? Pawn shop?
Mailorder from a catalog. Good prices and shipped immediately to your door. Some places even throw in freebies.
“Pardon my ignorance; what is FMJ and JHP ? “
Full metal jacket and jacket hollow point.
FMJ = Full Metal Jacket
JHP = Jacketed Hollow Points.
RTFM on your firearm, and pay attention to what they say is appropriate ammunition for your weapon.
For example, some 9mm ammunition is called “+P”, which means they are higher pressure rounds than the standard 9mm round.
You’re getting a little extra punch, which, if you’re carrying a nine for self-protection is a Good Thing— but BE FOREWARNED: DO NOT USE +P in a nine unless your firearm is rated for it.
You could end up with a collection of high velocity metal fragments instead of a firearm, and some of said fragments would be heading in your direction.
Oh, do not use reloads in a Glock.
It’ll void your warranty.
OK thanks for that!
Congrats! What’s the capacity on that?
That’s the gun I carry. (Yes, carry! Concealed!)
Many thanks to all that replied. One more question: I want to buy 2 more guns, but could not afford yet to buy 2 real nice ones; so I need to buy one middle of the road gun, and another cheap, but somehow reliable one.
10 round magazines +1 chambered. Since it’s mil/LE Spec it will fire without the magazine.

TRAITOR! j/k INBN is an H&K user. Glad to see you up’d yer arsenal though. Rock On and be safe.
Scouts Out! Cavalry Ho!
In shotguns, the Mossberg 500 or 590 shotgun will fit that bill perfectly. The 500 is lower priced than the 590, but is just as reliable... The 590 is more of a "mil-spec" shotgun, but doesn't kill a bad guy any quicker than the 500.
You get what you pay for.
ESPECIALLY with firearms.
Mossberg P500 pistol-grip 12 gauge shotgun.
Excellent home defense weapon.
If you have a little more cash, I’d go with the Remington 870 instead.
The sound of that slide being racked is enough to make anyone who isn’t either mentally disturbed or on drugs turn tail and run.
If you’re talking handguns it gets a little more complicated.
And the rule about “rent one at the range and try it out before you buy one” applies to shotguns, too.
You stand corrected. The 19 will hold a 15 rounder.
Gives me the warm fuzzies feeling those extra rounds.
I have had my Glock 19 for about 18 years now and love it. I also have a Stainless 92F and a real curious relic, an HK VP70Z wow what a brick! and it’s trigger pull is like starting a lawnmower.
