Bloggers fear Obama using the draft as loophole for slavery/indoctrination [Vanity]

Posted on 10/22/2008 2:34:35 PM PDT by Arthur Wildfire! March

One blogging group in particular is the PUMAs.

What would happen if a power-hungry President were to play tricks with the draft? Could he use the draft as an excuse to:

1. Use draftees for slave labor [in the name of 'civil service']?

2. Put adults from age 18 to 41 into reeducation camps?

These are the kinds of things that PUMAs and other bloggers fear.

What first fueled this concern was Michelle Obama in a California speech:

"Barack Obama will require you to work. He is going to demand that you shed your cynicism. That you put down your divisions. That you come out of your isolation, that you move out of your comfort zone . . . Barack will never allow you to go back to your lives as usual - uninvolved, uninformed."

http://www.boston.com/bostonglobe/editorial_opinion/oped/articles/2008/05/25/michelle_obama_is_fair_game/

This is going to be our new First Lady? She's eager for her husband to force us to work [his way] and to be informed [his way]. It certainly sounds like slave labor and reeducation. What, pray tell, did her husband tell her? What other mechanism would a president Obama have than the draft itself? It sounds far fetched, but since Obama is hiding the details, what are we left to conjecture?

The clincher was Joe Biden's ominous warning:

1. A manufactured crisis within six months

2. Solutions that will cause Obama's poll ratings to plummet.

"Watch, we’re gonna have an international crisis, a generated crisis, to test the mettle of this guy.”

Here's a little more of what Biden said:

“There are gonna be a lot of you who want to go, ‘Whoa, wait a minute, yo, whoa, whoa, I don’t know about that decision’,” Biden continued. “Because if you think the decision is sound when they’re made, which I believe you will when they’re made, they’re not likely to be as popular as they are sound. Because if they’re popular, they’re probably not sound.”

That was the last straw for some PUMAs. They smell a rat. I can't blame them. Guess who said this?

"We are on the verge of a global transformation. All we need is the right major crisis..." -- David Rockefeller.

PUMAs are beginning to to take notice of a Obama comment on military service at Columbia: “If we are going into war, then all of us go, not just some.” They also noticed that Obama wants females included in the draft.

Then there was this: "I will call on a new generation of Americans to join our military.... I will expand AmeriCorps to 250,000 slots, and make that increased service a vehicle to meet national goals like providing health care and education, saving our planet and restoring our standing in the world, so that citizens see their efforts connected to a common purpose."

Here is a list of blogs trying to make sense of it all:

http://blog.hillary-clintons-voice.com/is-a-military-draft-in-obamas-future-plans-2095 http://charts.technorati.com/posts/Uv1yJsfGAG3NVKDXqZ1VRzqxd7ENSSLIEBCbsWNRip0%3D http://lgstarr.blogspot.com/2008/07/obama-plans-national-draft-for-all.html http://www.rense.com/general83/obm.htm http://www.radicalleft.net/blog/_archives/2008/9/15/3885185.html http://www.victoriousopposition.com/index.php/site/comments/obama-would-draft-women-send-them-into-combat/ http://prorev.com/2008/09/obama-hints-return-of-draft.html

They fear Obama having the power of the draft. Should we?

Another website has put a lot of thought in this concern: http://www.crossroad.to/articles2/08/1-service.htm

And guess what name pops up? Bill Ayers. Ayers shifted from terrorism to radical indoctrination of youth through education. [That's professor material in many of today's universities.]

Bill Ayers has been practicing how to radicalize students for a long time now. It's clearly a passion of his.

Maybe these dots don't connect, but more people all the time are beginning to think they do.

I know what happened in Germany. My grandfather was killed by the Nazis in Calais. I don’t need lectures on being naive, but I guess “not possible” was the wrong way to phrase my meaning. I should have said “very unlikely”. Americans are stubborn and independent.

I can see the feds limiting sales of ammo and “assault rifles”, but any serious talk of physically removing guns from the hands of the American people would probably result in several red states threatening to break from the union. I want to say that Montana already put Congress on notice recently that they would see any infringment on the 2nd Amendment as a violation of their contract with the union. I grew up in Texas and I can assure you that we take our 2nd Amendment rights very seriously, and I don’t see that changing.

It will start with "reasonable restrictions".

Then to complete the process, all they need is a horrific event that can be used to complete it. For an example, just Google the Port Arthur Massacre in Australia, and the legislative aftermath.

And if such an event doesn't happen on its own, they'll create one. Google the Reichstag Fire for an example.

I would expect some states to resist. But, I don't expect the resistance to last long. The federal government can quickly ruin any state with economic sanctions. Anyone that resists will bec

At age 10, his gramps turned him over to the communist pedophile pervert Frank Davis. He was “mentored” for 8 years or so by the commie fudge packer.

What sort of sane person would turn his grandson over to such a monster? I can just imagine gramps saying “That’s not the Frank Davis I knew.”

In the years I worked with men in uniform when I was a contractor, they had a much "harsher" set of rules to follow than us civilians. One person in the detachment I got to talking to, he mentioned that if you even get a speeding ticket, you have to notify the chain of command where as in the civilian world except for some specific jobs, you are on you own and you don't have to notify your manager at work either. Also here in Colorado, when you ride a motorcycle, the state is pretty well hands off on adults such as not having to wear a helmet. Different rules for military and it applies not only off base but also off duty. You have to wear full protective gear like helmet, gloves, closed toe shoes, and an orange vest. Civilians have to follow those ONLY on base.

I hadn't thought of it but this could work for a President Hussein. A draft would put a legal obligation on the population for a large number of years. Once in the service the population's actions would be subject to more government control. Someone post and tell me I'm getting too wacky about this.

People, please don’t vote for this idiot NObama. Hitler is in the works people. Pay attention to what this yoyo NObama is saying. He is one sly character and young people worship the ground he walks on. God forbid he becomes our President. Everything I hear out of his mouth spells trouble. I believe his plan is to rule the world, just like Hitler. The Jewish people best be careful who you vote for. This man in the devil incarnate. Those who think President Bush was awful, wait until you must give all your funds to Little Hitler NObama. Then you will wish President Bush were back. Why can’t young people see this man for what he is, instead of what they want him to be. Give away programs to people who don’t or won’t work, take from the middle class and make them poor. Then take from these rich Actresses and Actors and see how they like their wealth and power eroded. One thing for sure they would learn a lesson along with the rest of us. They think they are so high and mighty. I think I would like to see some of them brought to their knees. The way they talk about the Country, the President, the Military, and any other damn thing that peeks their interest. Then there is the DemoRats, who criticize everything and anything. They need to be reduced to a minimum in the political arena. I’m not saying the Republicans don’t have faults but they have more brains. I’m ranting, should quit watching TV.

Funny, before I even came here tonight and saw your ping, CF, I was thinking about how IF all children were required to attend the public school system and “volunteer” in public service, he essentially would be bringing back slavery. Especially IF the draft were re-instituted (as Michael Moore would like). Now, that would be ironic, wouldn’t it?

Well this is what Obama said at Columbia and it went right over everyone's heads....

Obama: "But it’s also important that a president speaks to military service as an obligation not just of some, but of many. You know, I traveled, obviously, a lot over the last 19 months. And if you go to small towns, throughout the Midwest or the Southwest or the South, every town has tons of young people who are serving in Iraq and Afghanistan. That’s not always the case in other parts of the country, in more urban centers. And I think it’s important for the president to say, this is an important obligation. If we are going into war, then all of us go, not just some...

And by the way, we will deploy you in some difficult areas, but that’s part of what it means to be an American and to serve and to sacrifice...

He has been telling everyone his intentions and no one has paid attention....

This is ridiculous. Do you honestly think that if Obama is elected he is going to institute slavery in this country, and/or lock people up in “re-education camps”, or any of the other silly stuff said around here? It may not be good for the country if he’s elected, but some of these theories are just plain loony.

You addressed your post to someone else, but I want to respond... Yes, some of the theories around here are far-fetched, and I don't appreciate some of the tactics my fellow Republicans are using. It only backfires.

But this theory is a valid concern. The story doesn't start here on this thread. It goes back to a statement Obama made earlier:

QUOTE: when I'm President, I will set a goal for all American middle and high school students to perform 50 hours of service a year, and for all college students to perform 100 hours of service a year. This means that by the time you graduate college, you'll have done 17 weeks of service. We'll reach this goal in several ways. At the middle and high school level, we'll make federal assistance conditional on school districts developing service programs, and give schools resources to offer new service opportunities. At the community level, we'll develop public-private partnerships so students can serve more outside the classroom.

I'll tell you, I see nothing wrong with requiring people to do something if they want to receive something "free" from the government from tuition grants to "free" public education. But what about those of us who elect not to receive "free" education? For example, some states have tried to outlaw homeschooling. Suppose they're successful? Then every child will be required to attend school and required to do community service. Once that policy is instituted, how far will it go eventually? We have to ask that question.

FTR, we homeschool our children, and even though we do not receive education nor tuition courtesy of the state or federal government, our children do volunteer their time in community service, without the gov't telling them to.

My son’s high school required a minimum hours of volunteer work in order to graduate. We didn’t think twice about it since he already volunteered at the animal shelter.

But the statement you reference doesn’t contain any requirements. It sets “goals” and makes federal assistance conditional on developing a program. He talks about setting up programs and giving schools resources to offer oppourtunities to volunteer. I don’t see any requirements for volunteering

The state of Alaska requires public school kids to do community service hours to graduate and the way it works here, I am pretty sure private and home schools are exempt.

He said he wants to set goals for students to perform a minimum number of hours in community service and make federal funding “conditional” - meaning federal funding will be either denied or reduced if a school does not set up these community service programs.

Of course, schools will go along with the plan in return for the federal funds. And, if these community service programs have goals attached, then the schools will require each student to do his share.

I imagine most people embracing this plan. The question is, where will it lead?

No wonder Colin Powell endorsed him. He’s all for mandatory volunteerism, isn’t he? I have a vague recollection of this from years ago.

So many people have no appreciation for freedom—what it means and the responsibilities that go with it.

I’d have no problem with it, as long as parents can opt their children out of the public school system. And, it would also depend on what type of community service is required...

I remember Powell calling for more people to volunteer, too, and other Republicans saying the same. Obama seems to want to take it further by requiring it in a roundabout way, though.

Yep, Powell’s endorsement. What a shame.

Do you really think I’m maligning any existing programs outside the control of Obama and/or Ayers?

Obama’s good friend, Ayers, has been experimenting on ways to radicalize students. Chavez of Venzuala wants Ayers to overhaul his education/indoctrination program. Is Obama the kind of leader you want to expand that program?

“Consider one group - the homosexuals. First thing, I don't endorse their choice but people of that “orientation” should be wary. Hitler had homosexuals killed.”

I imagine that was part of the Eugenics mindset. [Worship of evolutionism.] But the philosophy driving modern leftists is overpopulation/climate change — they are more concerned with stamping out virility and fertility. If a homosexual manages to produce children — ‘great’. The children will pass the gene on to help thin out future virility/fertility.

Even worse — signs of intelligence because that leads to the ‘pollution’ of prosperity. So whatever they deem to be ‘genetically inferior’ is preferable. If murder is genetically ‘inspired’, then by all means, cut the murderer some slack and get him reproducing. [Of course, most people in the left are just useful idiots of misanthropic super-rich and/or ivy leaguers.]

As for being in league with terrorists — their self-destructive urges offer harmony with the goals of Islamo-facism.

“politically motivated “draft” would result in open revolt.”

That’s why there would first be a major crisis. Biden said, ‘within six months’.

What if a president Obama had started up the draft the day after 9-11? Not only that, he followed FDR’s footsteps with rationing cards. He could even shut down subversive media, and people would have cheered him on.
