Welcome to FreeRepublic.com.
It seems you two were made for each other.
I wouldn’t worry about it.

You know what Dr Laura would say, if you guys can’t agree on politics, that’s a big deal. What will it be like 10 years from now? Seems to me if you’re republican and she supports an extremist like Obama, how much can the two of you have in common.

I’m never talking to my aunt again because of her support for The Creep.
So, absolutely.

Absolutely. If you find differences politically, it speaks to the incompatibility between your values. First, it's politics. Then there is a gap on how to raise children, how to spend money, how important church or tradition is in your household, etc. It is easier to bridge the difference with someone of even a different race, ethnicity, or religion if you can see eye-to-eye politically than a homogeneous mating that includes political disagreement.
The secret to my own 30-year-marriage is that no matter how much we differ in life, in politics we are a united front and that intimacy is a bond that the world cannot undermine.

At least stay friends,
a character witness might become very valuable.

Whether you break up or not (for the record, YES, you should), at the very least chain her up tomorrow, lest she vote for The Evil One. ;-)

I don’t talk to my very liberal uncle anymore because we’ve had at it so much the last 8 years. It’s sad, but that’s the way it is. When he drops “Bush is Hitler” crap all the time, then I just say grow up (and he’s 70).
My wife and I are married over a decade. She’s a Republican and I’m an independent, but lean strongly conservative (in fact, I’m more conservative then her but the GOP has ticked me off too much for me to be a member of their club).
That being said, politics and relationships can be tough if you’re passionate about both.
I don’t know how Carville and his wife make it work. I really don’t.

Heck no!
If she’s the type to support 0bama then I bet there’s all kinds of perverse stuff she’d let you do to her that a ‘nice girl’ wouldn’t.
