Well, the election is over, and 65 million Americans chose Barack Obama to be their President despite his lack of experience, troubling associations and socialist ideals. Yes. Apparently, most Americans were willing to put these pesky details aside in order to usher in an Era of Good Feeling. Of course, I cant help but fear that weve actually begun the Era of Bad Thinking. That remains to be seen, however, so in the meantime, lets take a closer look at the Good, the Bad and the Ugly of the 2008 Presidential Election.
Believe it or not, there is some good that came out of this election. First, while it is true that 65 million Americans voted for Barack and his spread-the-wealth around philosophy, 57 million of us rejected it. Thats significant. Many, many Americans rejected socialism on election day.
Its also clear that we are still a center-right country. How do I know this? Just look at Baracks campaign. He ran as a tax-cutter. In fact, right now, 95% of Americans are expecting a tax cut. In addition, he said during the campaign that he was for a strong military, that he was pro-gun, that was for domestic drilling, and that he wanted less abortions. So he basically sold himself as a center-right candidate, and most Americans bought it. He did this because it is still the only way to get elected in America. Thank God.
Juan Williams from Fox News gives us another positive: with the example of Mr. Obama's achievements the focus of discussion now is how the child of even the most oppressed of racial minorities can maximize his or her strengths and overcome negative stereotypes through achievement. Well said Juan.
And last, but certainly not least, this election brought us Sarah Palin, the new shining star in the Conservative movement. With her small town Conservative values, her common sense approach to government, her willingness to take on entrenched corruption, her ability to draw huge crowds, her strength in the face of unprecedented political and personal attacks that continue to this day, Sarah Palin represents all that is good and right in America and I, for one, am hoping that she has a bright future ahead of her.
Even though, Barack Obama ran as a center-right candidate, he has no intention of governing as one. Barack will raise taxes, weaken our military, ban domestic drilling, and sign the Freedom of Choice Act. He also wants to nationalize health care, put the coal industry out of business and raise the price of electricity. Why do I know this when most Americans dont? The corrupt main stream media refused to report the truth about Baracks positions. In fact, after this election, the mainstream media can no longer be trusted to report the truth. Period.
Baracks campaign accepted over 37,000 donations from foreign sources. This is illegal and troubling. Americans should demand to know who these donors were and what they expect in return? Also, there was rampant vote fraud in this election. Go to my website right now and you can see a man admit to voting multiple times in Philadelphia. ACORN, funded by the Obama campaign, committed massive registration and vote fraud, but because Obama won, neither the illegal campaign donations nor the vote fraud will be investigated.
With both the House and Senate under Democrat control and the ability to appoint radical leftist judges, expect Capitalism and our Constitution to be under continuous attack.
In one night, America went from being the Land of Opportunity to the Land of Government-Please-Take-Care-of-Me.
People used to dream about coming to America because they envied our freedom. Now, theyll come to America because they envy our wealth redistribution system.
Illegal immigrants used to fear deportation. Now, theyll be offered a deal: vote democrat and well give you someone elses money, a new drivers license, free tuition, and free health care.
Because so many Americans were willing to make the trade, The Statue of Liberty will now be called the Statue of Change.
Americans used to be self-reliant and had the motto: Dont Tread on Me. Now, with multiple bailouts and handouts, we are government-reliant and have the motto: Dont Count on Me.
Our enemies used to fear us because our President was willing to take the fight to their doorstep. Now, these same enemies celebrate and send letters of congratulations because they see us as a doormat.
Perhaps, most ugly of all are the tactics that team Obama used to deal with those who tried to report the truth. They were harassed and strong-armed. They were investigated by Government agencies. They were called liars and personally attacked. They were banned from his campaign plane. They were sued and threatened with Government prosecution. Scary stuff.
In 1787 at the Constitutional Convention, as Dr. Benjamin Franklin walked out of Independence Hall in Philadelphia, he was asked: well Doctor, what have we got, a republic or a monarchy. Dr. Franklin replied: a republic
if you can keep it. Well, there are 57 million of us, Dr. Franklin, and good, bad or ugly, you can count on us.
Let's not forget that his lack of experience will make this a most bumpy four years.
Good, bad & ugly: Sarah Palin, Barack Hussein Obama & Helen Thomas.
Interesting read. Right on!!
can not be said and repeated enough...
Later historians will refer to this group as the
Kool-Aid drinkers...err, Lotus Eaters.
