Police say a leg, found inside a bull shark by a prominent South Florida charter boat captain, is not human.
Captain Mark the Shark had contacted police after he sliced open a nine-foot, 400-pound bull shark Friday morning and found what he thought was a human leg.
According to Broward Sheriff's Office spokesman Mike Jachles, the leg was taken to the county's medical examiner's office, and testing revealed the limb was not human.
The captain said the 400-pound shark was caught about 4 p.m. Thursday a quarter-mile off of Miami Beach, east of the Port of Miami. But it was Friday morning when the fisherman gutted the large bull shark and found the leg.
''It looked pretty fresh to me,'' he said. ``Maybe a couple of days old. Fish in their stomachs don't last more than a couple of days. The acid in their stomachs start deteriorating the meat.''
Mark the Shark, the captain's real legal name, runs a well-known charter boat service near Miami Beach. The massive bull shark was caught by one of his clients while on a routine fishing trip.
probably alien
Merimaid leg.
so like, then what is it?
Yeah, from their Bermuda Triangle underwater base. /sarc.
I say they are covering this up because they don't want to panic the tourists. I don't think this captain would have contacted authorities unless it damn sure WAS a human leg! What else could look like that?
Isn't modern journalism wonderful? Incompetence is the norm.
It's like they hire Jr. high-schoolers these days.
How fast can sharks skeletonize a cow?
i know.
Strong shark motif this evening, me boy - the sad thing is, that this fellow only had one leg to begin with. John Edwards was going to bring a suit against the shark, but realized the guy ... wouldn’t have ... a leg .... to stand on...hmmmmmmmmphhhhhhh...

Notice you only see one leg in this picture?
LOL!
Maybe a wild pig or something - Florida’s definitely got more than their fair share of those, and pig bones are supposed to be surprisingly close to human bones. Possibly a small deer? In any case, Florida doesn’t have a whole lot of other animals that are big enough to provide a roughly human-sized leg, even just from the size of the bones.
If it resembles a human leg, but isn’t human, it must be a democrat’s leg.
