You are dead on. As a long time consumer of Ford 150 and 250 pickups (owned 3 over the past 5 years), I made the switch to an American made (Mississippi) “rice burner” ie Nissan Titan this past February and after 18,000 miles I am still very happy with my switch.

I have caught some grief from this from my old Ford buddies but the driving experience with the Nissan is very different from Ford. Its been fun showing them the features my Nissan has that Ford has ignored to incorporate into their packages.

Time will tell whether I made the right choice but if this Titan continues to exceed my expectations, I will most definitely stay with Nissan. This bailout BS will definitely stick in my craw and yes, I will shun anything the big 3 produces.

all i can say is that we are leaving the world to our children in far worse shape than we got it. the biggest enemy of the american people is the american government and they’re thinking that it is the only thing that can save them.

Its so funny how so few people seem to have picked up on this... wasn’t the 0bamessiah and his radical Left Dem buddies the same ones who said “No Corporate Welfare!”? What the hell is this then?

Riggggghhhhhhht. The market looks back, not forward. Good grief...

You must not understand. Do you know when President elect Obama begins his term? 20 January. Now when they begin looking at the stock market in 2011 they will begin 20 January. So for example, if Obama starts with a stock market of 7500 on 20 January and it raises to 9200 in 2011, he will look like a saint. They don’t go back to 5 November. I wonder where you got your ideas from???

Its funny you say that... as a young person (in my 20’s) I have been so tempted for a while now to write a book about how the death of responsibility at the hands of the most selfish generation (baby boomers) has led to a destruction of the future. How most (obviously not all) of them use “think of the children” as just a BS argument to get more of their own selfish needs fulfilled. It stands in stark contrast to the generation before them who withstood a great depression and fought in WWII and Korea.

Looks like this is going to congress this week for a vote. Everyone needs to contact their senators and representatives ASAP to tell them to vote “NO” on the Big 3 Bail Out.

Find contact info here:

This whole thing is a win-win for us. Either Barry provides the 'pie' for his UAW buddies in the amounts they want, or he fails, undermining the gimmie-gimmie that was at the heart of his election.

If he does manage to toss big bucks Detroit's way, everybody else will expect him to walk on the same water for them. The only thing is, it will be much harder for him to provide this sort of 'pie' for all the hands stretched out towards the Obamessiah.

Inhofe was on Fox saying he’s against the auto bailout and even wants to freeze any more money coming out of the 700 billion bailout.

And once again the Republicans will roll over and play dead. Yawn.

In 1787 at what is now called "The Constitutional Convention" Benjamen Franklin asked for and was allowed to give an address to the attendees. In it there is a section where he argued against paying the elected officials anything because he says that money corrupts and power corrupts and if you put the two together then you will draw the most corrupt people to vie for office. They will do and say anything to gain those positions of power and if any honest people sand for those offices then they will be destroyed. So now you see why we have the politicians that we have.

I tried finding a site with that speech in it but couldn't. I do have several books with it in them, one from the 40's even calls it one of the greatest speeches ever made. But now days if you don't have a URL for it, it doesn't exist.

don’t kid yourself, pal.

the national debt is going to have to be paid and significantly dwindled if we’re ever to get decent borrowing for emergency needs. our national credit card is maxed out and the bill will come to our children.

with costs higher than ever, and taxes being forced to rise, our kids wil be shovelling against the tide just to havea a portion of what we now enjoy. every dollar the feds pour into this rathoole of an economy is ten more dollars that our children will have to earn but will never see.

that’s the atrocity that we are committing for those who follow us - God help them!

No I know it isn’t everyone but that refers to far too many of them. More than past generations. Case in point, many (as in almost all in the field) economists point to the fact that our biggest budget crises will come from excessive social security and medicare/medicaid spending relative to income. People can argue ad nauseum the legality or ethical implications of abortion but it is undeniable that of the about 55 million abortions that have happened since Roe in 1973, at least some of those individuals would be taxpayers if they were born. It was the baby booming generation who largely brought about the “right to choose” but also demand social security and other payments... i.e. the burden falls excessively on the surviving members of the younger generation.

Again, though that isn’t all of the generation by any means. It is, however, too large of the group overall.

Obviously not from you...I was referring to the short selling and bailouts in the market anticipating BO’s inauguration and the coming tax hits...I don’t know who “they” are but it is “they” that don’t know their butts from a hole in the ground if they think that this market is NOT being affected by B. Hussein Obama and his coming “Reign” over America...

History will not care about this GUARANTEED. Why does this matter? You are just rooting for Bush to have further historical bad news...Thanks for nothing.
