the manner in which one conducts oneself; behavior
Example sentence:
The school expects students to dress in proper attire and maintain a respectful level of deportment throughout the day.

"Deportment" evolved from the verb "deport," meaning "to behave especially in accord with a code," which in turn came to us through Middle French from Latin “deportare,” meaning "to carry away." (You may also know "deport" as a verb meaning "to send out of the country"; that sense is newer and is derived directly from Latin “deportare.”) "Deportment" can simply refer to one's demeanor, or it can refer to behavior formed by breeding or training and often conforming to conventional rules of propriety: "Are you not gratified that I am so rapidly gaining correct ideas of female propriety and sedate deportment?" wrote 17-year-old Emily Dickinson to her brother Austin.
Rules: Everyone must leave a post using the Word for the Day in a sentence.
The sentence must, in some way, relate to the news of the day.

Hey, my countdown picture today is a double play because the Chicago player whiffing on the tackle attempt is also #36.
I thought ED Hill’s deportment at Fox was annoying anyway, the way she loved Hillary and was a blatant democrat. No loss. Now if they would only get rid of Shep, that would improve the network significantly.
As long as Megyn Kelly is still on FNC, everything will be OK.

Linda Vester’s deportment was awesome...they replaced her with that twit duo of juliet huddy and mike jerrick......those two are so bad I gag on their show, can’t grab the remote fast enough...been lucky enough that it has been years since I saw their faces.

In the Southern tier to the west of you they’ve gotten over 2 feet of lake-effect snow over the past few days; a few of the area ski resorts are opening up this week, the earliest ever.

if the weather had not been so warm prior to this snow, so much of it wouldn’t have melted upon landing....if not for that the snow would be piling up a lot higher. for that I am grateful, but another two inches on my car is ticking me off royally...that’s three times in a week. I am sick of this white...$(*&!!!
with the way megyn went after obama supporters....won’t take her long to cross that line and she will be OUT. I have NOT watched any news since the Friday before the election.....it was accidentally on in the squad room while I was typing and I heard britt announce obama’s win and I turned that sucker off in record time. HGTV and movies are all I have watched since that night. can’t say that I miss any of it.

i got a reprieve from the bakesale, my friend called to tell me they have sold out of everything before third period was even over! and we had TONS of stuff. i dropped off 2 doz DD when i left my baked goods with her before 8 am. she had already sold 4 doz donuts prior to 8~!hungry hordes of boys have been passing through eating everything in their path. i am just as glad to not have to go and help out with the selling.
...can't say that I think there was anything wrong with it....but Fox has let Linda Vester go, John Gibson is fading, and ED is gone. ED was my least fav of the three, but this is silly.
i recall hearing that. so she wasn’t fired immediately for it? they were kind of at loose ends as to what to do with her, it seems. her specials on Terrorism were quite good. she truly GETS IT, what we are up against. yet that dimbulb, courtney brainless friel, hangs on at Fox!
Fox is just biding it’s time till her contract expires....same with Gibson I imagine.
Another reason I never moved back to NY after I retired from the Navy. Shorts and tee shirt here. (I never did like shoveling the weather.)

they have a stable of people in the background there, i wonder how they are paid. like the other brainless blonde who was on the weekend F&F til they brought alisyn camerata on with those guys that i don’t care for. harris faulkner is around to sub on occasion and what was that other blonde who i didn’t like at first but came to like? oh paige hopkins wasn’t it? i thought she was good. they took her off weekends also.
Yeah, "deport" does come to mind.

Linda was good and I like Megyn Kelly. There are only a handful of smart women there. I couldn’t stand ED. There are plenty of men there who get on my nerves as well. Add my remodelers to men on my list. I’m waiting on one right now and he’ll be here for at least 2 hours, putting in fixtures and baseboards and what not. My plans for the morning are shot.
-so the bakesale goodies are baked by the moms and sold to their offspring with money provided by the parents? LOL...sounds like a gotcha all the way around.
