A Swedish hip-hop artist and songwriter has been arrested following a road-rage confrontation on a Hollywood street in which a pedestrian died. Authorities say David Moses Jassy, a 34-year-old musician also known as Dave Monopoly, was to be arraigned today on charges of assault, battery and leaving the scene of a deadly accident. Prosecutors claim that the victim, John Osnes, slapped Jassy's rented sport utility vehicle on Sunday when it crept into his right of way as he crossed the road. Jassy then got out of his car, punched Osnes in the face then kicked him in the head when Osnes bent over to pick up his glasses, Los Angeles prosecutors alleged in a written statement.
Jassy then broke free of several people trying to restrain him and allegedly ran over Osnes as he tried to flee. Osnes, a 55-year-old jazz pianist, died at a hospital later that night.

Punching, kicking someone in the head and then running them over is an accident?
You can chalk that one up to immigration from Gambia.
This "confrontation" sounds more like MURDER, but maybe that's too accusatory for an artist.

Wouldn’t this be some degree of murder or at least manslaughter?

I don’t think you would see the headline reading a Swedish Classical Musician Arrested following road rage incident.....

This whole thing just sounds...bizarre and tragic and very very Californian...
If you are driving into pedestrian crosswalk you deserve to be slapped or tapped on the fender. You don’t like to stay out of pedestrian crosswalks when people are present? Then do not drive in California. They are giving tickets in Irvine, Orange County, if you do not give pedestrians TOTAL RIGHT OF WAY. You don’t like it? Don’t drive. And most certainly do not run over the walkers.
And there is no murder, manslaughter, vehicular homicide, or attempted murder charge???

Another article I read said the DA was still investigating which indicates additional charges are in the works. The original hearing was postponed as the Hip Hopster wanted a Swede interperter......

I don't doubt it...but the guy who took it upon himself to administer the penalty for this rude driving behavior is dead. He asked for trouble by slapping the guy's car...He got it.
