Hi, Jaycee!! I haven’t seen you so long, girl, come here and I’ll hug your neck!!!:)

You mentioned a redbird upthread. That’s one of the Fannie Flagg books that I love, “A Redbird Christmas.” I highly recommend it as reading and gift-giving.

I just finished reading Nicholas Evans’s “The Divide.” Wow, that was good, almost as good as “The Loop” and “The Smoke Jumper.” The one I haven’t read by him is “The Horse Whisperer.”

Thank your sweet soul so much for noticing my memory of Greg. You couldn’t meet a more wonderful guy. He was the peer leader in our church Sunday school group, looked out for everyone and was so kind. He went on to earn both psychology and divinity degrees. All he wanted to do was help others. Our mothers were very good friends too. Such a tragedy losing him. The angels will take your prayer up to him, I know. (((Hugs)))

So that’s where the expression comes from: “Oh My Mod!” I think I heard a young teenage girl sitting behind me use it about 18 times on the last flight I took. LOL!

Happy Monday, Dita. Happy December.

Glad to hear that you are feeling better. I had a hotdog for lunch also.
Colds always mess up my taste buds.

May your friend, Greg Wherry, rest in peace.
Bless you, Dita, for remembering your friend today.

Oh man .... yeah my birthday is coming again. Sigh. It will be in January. A couple of weeks later JustJr and MrJust will also have birthdays.

Good thing is that after January 15th, we are finished until our Anniversary in November. Then it’s time to start over. ;^ )

Thank you for telling me about your friend, Greg. He sure sounds like a wonderful guy and had to leave too soon. He would be very happy with your memories of him and of ‘you and I talking about him’. I have lost some close to me in the last few weeks as a matter of fact. They might have been older than your friend.

One was my next door neighbor, Brenda, 61, who found she had cancer in July and died in October. My DIL’s first cousin, only 58, died right after Brenda from breast cancer that she also found out about in July. And I lost a classmate just recently....just died a sudden death. She and I had sat together for our last Lunch Bunch in October and she died about three weeks after that lunch. I attended 3 funerals in 9 days.....it was kinda hard to take. So I do understand
broken hearts.

And I am going to sure look into those Fannie Flagg books. It is nice that you are working in a lot of reading. I always loved to read, but since the computer, I just don’t take the time and I should. So good for the brain I hear! I’ve gotta run a few errands. Talked your ear off~~LOL~~

There are several sites for reducing byte size. I will try to find them for you. If I have trouble with one, I try another. LOL

Sometimes it takes way to much time so I forget it. No patience!

Well, Trolls are certainly ugly little creatures! YUK!

But I can imagine the internet trolls do look very much like that. Ugly is as ugly does. :)

This graphic is gorgeous, Billie, and the poetry is, too!

Thanks, Meg - I was anxious to do something with that scene, and Amy's poem find just 'completed' it!

Monday always seems to be Errands Day, doesn't it. Be careful when you're out and about - the streets are so congested from Thanksgiving until after the first of the year. :(

Your white candles with the white satin bg and touches of black and red are very pretty.

Afternoon, Luvbo! Cherry pie looks delish - and it absolutely MUST have that scoop of ice cream on top. :)

That is such a lovely graphic. Quiet and mysterious but the rightly placed redbirds are perfect. And a perfect poem to go with it. Thank you all for beautiful things.

Thank you, Jaycee - you're always so thoughtful and generous with your compliments to everyone. I wasn't liking that graphic enough until I added the birds for a bit more color. Thanks for noticing. :)

Sounds like Marissa is really going to keep you busy this month! People shouldn’t have birthdays in December. :) Or get married in December. There should only be ONE birthday in December. :)

Amy and Billie, I Love your Post #2; So Beautiful! Thank you for our December Thread, and for All you Do.

Oh, thank you, Kitty. I'm glad you like the opening. It's always fun to start over with a new month at Amy's. I enjoy going through all the pretty things each month.

Nice black and white pic of Rosa Parks. :)

We haven't been to Furr's in ages, but choosing a dessert is always hard to do at cafeterias or buffets - do I want chocolate pie or a two-crust fruit pie, or banana creme pie, or German Chocolate Cake, or Key Lime Pie......:)

Jaycee, what a great post and I’m so sorry I wasn’t online much when these losses where happening in your life..:( I think I was caught up in campaigning, etc.

I do remember Brenda and how you portrayed her and her plight so well. It’s very sad to lose these wonderful women in an untimely way. A long-time friend of mine lost his beloved wife to breast ca when their children were yet toddlers. He made the story into a successful one-man play, quite remarkably. What a wonderful, loving man and he did find a second wife.

Funerals are heavy and that was a difficult time for you, but a tremendous honor to pay respects to the lives of 3 friends.

On a lighter note, yes, reading is good for the brain. In fact, I realized my brain had been craving this nourishment. I am now reading “Flags of Our Fathers,” about the American men who raised the flag at Iwo Jima.
