Wrong school. It was Tuberville and the Auburn Tigers that made up a 'People's Championship' the year they were undefeated. I think Alabama has 12.

Actually Alabama claims all kinds of National Championships. Prior to the BCS the NC was crowned based on the coaches poll and the writers poll (UPI and AP). CHEWTIBACKY NC did not count.
I believe Auburn got a royal screwing a few years ago. So did Notre Dame back in the 90’s. They need a playoff but of course that isn’t going to happen.
