Thanks, much appreciated.
Many years ago when my youngest son was in grammar school, he wrote a Veterans Day note thanking me for my service to America.
Every Vets Day I still take it out and read it.

I can not thank you enough for your service.

I am proud of all who served in Vietnam. Our Troops never lost a battle in Nam. Americans lost the will to fight here at home. Leftist anti-war protester stole our will to fight. I am sorry that they left you down. I was born in 66 and I never stood with a commie hippy protester and I never will. I want to thank you for doing what you were asked to do. You are the greatest and you all are heroes.

May God bless you all.

Thank them all for me.

Please let our Vietnam Vets know that there are people in the generation that came after them who respect what they had to do. There are some of us who look at them as heroes. Who look at the Hanoi Jane’s as traitors. Who can look back and see that when we pulled out of South East Asia, millions of people died. We know and understand that pulling out was a mistake and we wish to learn from this lesson. Some of us see this anyhow.

Thank you for letting our Vietnam Vets know that there are people who look up to them. They deserve every ounce of respect we can give them.

I aint bein' no Grammar Nazi. Lord knows, I aint perfect yet. But I have to correct this for Him:

Thanks to all our vets and god bless them and their families.

Thanks to all our vets and God bless them and their families.

Sorry 'bout being a Grammar Nazi; and I know where your heart is, others may not. Besides for Him, that is why I wanted to fix that.

Sorry about that.

Please allow me to thank you for your service. I am damn proud of you all.

I want you to know that I am glad that men such as you live and lived. I am glad that men like Washington, Jackson, Grant, Lee, Pershing, Patton, Westmoreland, Schwarzkopf, Petreaus and those who served under these leaders lived. Yes some did not live long. But thank God they lived. Patton said: It is foolish and wrong to mourn the men who died. Rather, we should thank God that such men lived.

I thank God for all who lived and served liberty.
