I hope he stays and forces an impeachment so that the whole democratic corrupt apparatus is out there for all to see. He is not the only corrupt official in Illinois. Not by a long shot. Remember Obama got his start in Chicago politics...and you can’t grow up to power and influence in that cesspool without some of the slime coming home to roost on you!

The way Madigan is going about this almost makes me root for Blago. We all know he’s guilty from the tapes, but he still deserves a trial. She is trying to use the incapacitated law to further her own political career.

This will turn into internecine warfare among the Dems. Get a comfy chair and some popcorn. Enjoy the show.

Why should he budge? After all, he is a Democrat. That ‘D’ following his name is in essence a ‘stay-out-of-jail free’ card.

I feel so sorry for Blago! Its time that sensitive and compassionate conservatives help this poor man! We need to start a fund for him and his family to see them through a difficult impeachment.

I mean, after all, he deserves to have his say. Those who honor free speech should help this poor man financially now so he can take advantage of the TIME it will take to “ get his message out”.

As an IL resident it would be nice to get him out and start trying to put the state back together again, but on the other hand this is doing so much harm to the Donks it’s worth hoping it goes on and on. Kinda like Operation Chaos.

Probably already said by someone....but the longer Blago stays in office...the messier and deeper this whole bribery/corruption thing will get....and reveal a lot more people involved (BHO?)

Kwame Kilpatrick showed Rod The Beatle Blago the way. Stay in office as long as possible and don’t resign. That way you’ll have the most leverage. Somebody forgot to tell Nixon.

WEll as RUSH stated yesterday, the Democrats want to give more rights to the Gittmo prisoners than to one of their own Governors!

AG Madigan and Lt Gov Quinn connected to Jackson/Blago donor
Lisa Madigan wants to be Governor.

Our Lt. Governor wants to appoint her to the Obama Senate seat so Lisa Madigan will NOT run against HIM (Quinn) for Governor. Believe me folks! If Blago steps down we have here in Illinois 10 other Politicians JUST as corrupt as BLAGO!!

Lisa Madigan’s Father HATES BLAGO and wants his daughter who is our Attorney general so he can be even more powerful.

Illinois Corruption continues. Lisa Madifan is a Terrible AG. NOW she and her “Speaker of the House” Father Mike Madigan are eyeing the possibility of MORE POWER!!

ROFLMAO!

Reminds me of "All the kings horses and all the King's men..."
When was it ever together?
Maybe when Abraham Lincoln lived in Springfield?
Illinois is famous for being a cesspool of inbred political corruption, cronyism, and fraud.
Can anyone say "Mayor Daley"?
The voters of the state just sit back and keep voting in crooks year after year.
A tradition.
The fact that they let Blago plaster his name across the Tollway, at a cost of $millions to taxpayers - a blatant misuse of public funds for his personal campaign - is just one example.
There's plenty more.

I got in a political argument last night with a woman who hated McCain because Dick Cheney shot a hunting buddy and then made that friend apologize to him(that was the gist of it). I told her she should try to educate herself on some of the issues instead of getting her political information from the Daily Show. She then claimed to be a news junkie. However, when I mentioned what was going on in Illinois, she had no idea what I was talking about. Is this case not all over the news? Could she really possibly have “missed” it? I suspect she’s just a mind-boggling idiot (I think I told her that a few times too— I was not on my best behaviour. Oops.).

Negotiations must be ongoing to pay him a lot more than what he would have made off the senate seat sale...after Obama’s and Emmanuel’s cuts that is.

I read that article hours ago and I agree. Let this all come out to the “sheeple” and let the debate begin. An excellent article. A must read for anyone interested in this debacle. It changed my mind.

What is clear is that Gov. Blagojevich's prosecution involves much of Illinois' political elite.

Let's hope Blago sings like a canary.

Nixon managed to hang in there for more than 9 months after the pressure for impeachment began to mount (after the firing of Archibald Cox). He could have lasted some more days or weeks but at the time he resigned his chances of escaping conviction in a Senate trial were almost nil.

Agnew leveraged his position as VP to avoid prison time...I don't think Blagojevich has as much leverage, merely being a state governor and not next-in-line to the Presidency.
