The fact that they let Blago plaster his name across the Tollway, at a cost of $millions to taxpayers - a blatant misuse of public funds for his personal campaign - is just one example.

I got in a political argument last night with a woman who hated McCain because Dick Cheney shot a hunting buddy and then made that friend apologize to him(that was the gist of it). I told her she should try to educate herself on some of the issues instead of getting her political information from the Daily Show. She then claimed to be a news junkie. However, when I mentioned what was going on in Illinois, she had no idea what I was talking about. Is this case not all over the news? Could she really possibly have “missed” it? I suspect she’s just a mind-boggling idiot (I think I told her that a few times too— I was not on my best behaviour. Oops.).

What is clear is that Gov. Blagojevich's prosecution involves much of Illinois' political elite.

Nixon managed to hang in there for more than 9 months after the pressure for impeachment began to mount (after the firing of Archibald Cox). He could have lasted some more days or weeks but at the time he resigned his chances of escaping conviction in a Senate trial were almost nil.

Agnew leveraged his position as VP to avoid prison time...I don't think Blagojevich has as much leverage, merely being a state governor and not next-in-line to the Presidency.
