Harrell, Leach tour White House, meet the president BY DON WILLIAMS AVALANCHE-JOURNAL
While other quarterbacks were keeping their fingers crossed Saturday for their chance at the Heisman Trophy, Texas Techs Graham Harrell was at the White House meeting the president.
Harrell, Tech coach Mike Leach, Leachs wife Sharon and Tech associate media relations director Blayne Beal got a private tour of the White House and had a 20-minute meeting with President Bush on Saturday morning and afternoon.

Yes, I enjoyed watching Texas Tech this year. And that reminds me: The Heisman presentation show is coming up in a few minutes. Gotta run!
I’ve seen videos and read transcripts of President Bush at public and semi-public (like this) events. From what I’ve seen, his behavior has always been gracious, humorous, just about ideal. I think he’s a good man, as well as a smart man.
I have been disappointed by some of his decisions. I truly hope he will pardon those two border officers who were only doing their jobs.

Two former Red Raiders are staffers at the White House and set up this tour for Coach and Graham - By the way, Coach Leach was given the Munger Coach of the Year award, and Graham Harrell was given the Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award.
Story at the link didn’t match. I was hoping for a pic.
Or even this year's three finalists for that matter.
They will, or at least be offered. Most of the time it happens after Bowl Season, not before though. IIRC
Obama will invite Mack and Colt - they were so welcoming in Austin for him.

I can’t say for certain, but I really doubt that Colt voted for Obama. His whole family is very conservative. If you ever have listened to Colt, he always gives God the glory. He would be gracious to Obama, yes, but why would there be a need for him to be otherwise?
