Hmm a run on the bank.

I wonder if they had senators like Chuckie Schumer talkin down banks back then?.

Those are good ones! If you ever get the chance, watch Christmas In Connecticut with Barbara Stanwyck and Dennis Morgan. Also, Meet Me In St Louis with Judy Garland and Leon Ames.

LOL, Meet me in St. Louis is already in my vhs library LOL, hubby got it for me years ago after making fun of me while watching it on TV way back in the day when I was 22. The King and I is also a HUGE fave! Great to talk to people with real taste in classics :)

Those look tasty!

I think you could give Martha Stewart a run for her money.

I was talking to a retired Navy Seal. He said when Jimmy Stewart died the Navy lost a great friend. He claimed that Jimmy was an incredible pilot. He could fly any thing and if he had never flown it before he could figure it out.....

I miss those great actors...all class acts

Some of the best movies are the old ones. I have tons of them in my collection!

Quite coincidentally, I was thinking today that if that angel saw me on the bridge, he'd just say, "Go ahead jump, dude!", and the sun wouldn't miss a beat circling around the earth.

Yeap, Jimmy walked the walk when it came to service to country.

My college mentor was a professor who lived in my neighborhood.

When he passed away the family sold lots of his things

I bought one of his Bric-a-Brac Year Books (Princeton University)

I was going through the pages and there were photos of a young Jimmy Stewart.

(donning flame suit)

I'm 50 years old and have seen this movie a half dozen times and I STILL hate it. I love Jimmy Stewart but this film is simply too dark for Christmas.

Life is often dark.

This is, in my estimation, the quintessential Christmas movie.

I remember that from SNL, it was hillarious. That was that “one loose end” from the movie that was never quite tied up.

Merry Christmas!!! It’s a wonderful life. Tears flow each time he runs home to his family.

If Obama had been the protagonist of the film even the angels wouldn't have been able to get his records to review his life.

I agree! I almost don’t care for any movie made past 1965.
The best IMO were from 1938 or so till sometime in the late fifties. The golden era of Hollywood...

It is indeed a wonderful life. I missed the entire movie; caught just the last 15 seconds. Hopefully, it'll be on again before Christmas.

Merry Christmas, everyone. And remember that every time a bell rings, an angel gets its wings!
