The first song that played over the loudspeakers after Obama's first speech as president-elect in Chicago's Grant Park was Springsteen's 'The Rising.' No other singer backed Barack Obama more, and no other singer made clear his apathy for the Bush regime. Springsteen's outright opposition.........

When his sequel to “The Rising,” entitled “The Caterwauling” or some other more pretentious thing, is also used to wear down enemy combatants at Gitmo, what’s he going to do, bust a vein?

Way to bring attention to the fact that your music is considered “torture” there Bruce.

Of course, I’ve considered it torture for years.

Look Bruce, we didn’t mean for it to go this far, just don’t release another song and we’ll quit, ok? But if you do, could you send an advance copy to the Dept. of Defense? Thanks.

“The first song that played over the loudspeakers after Obama’s first speech as president-elect in Chicago’s Grant Park was Springsteen’s ‘The Rising.’ No other singer backed Barack Obama more, and no other singer made clear his apathy for the Bush regime. Springsteen’s outright opposition to the war in Iraq is no secret, telling Americans on more than one occasion that they have been misled on the issue. When Ronald Reagan mentioned that he thought highly of his masterpiece ‘Born in the USA’ the Boss made it clear that he didn’t want Reagan’s side of politics using the song in any way to promote their cause.

With all that in mind it should come as no surprise that Bruce Springsteen was furious on hearing the news that his music is being used to torture inmates at Guantanamo Bay. Allegedly the music is turned up at full volume and blasted while detainees are interrogated. ‘He’s mad as hell, furious....this is a betrayal of all he stands for’ a music industry insider told us. ‘He is considering his options but don’t be surprised if a new song is released making his feelings clear and the legal route is being discussed.’

One thing is certain: We will be hearing from Bruce Springsteen on this topic, never one to shy away from expressing his opinions on an issue, probably sooner rather than later.”

That allnewsweb blog is a problem, they have been dumping stories on FR in recent weeks but who are they?

Nothing in this article is sourced or linked, how is this news, or a news source? (It never has been in the two weeks that they have saturated FR).

Two days ago ‘Kerry deVille of allnewsweb’ was smearing Governor Palin (they published this ‘fresh’ story two days ago) “She clearly knew little of life outside Alaska and allegedly was unaware that Africa was a continent, thinking that it was one country. This scared many and the initial buzz over the hockey-mum fizzled out.”

Who gives a rat’s petutie what Springsteen thinks?

Did he place a disclaimer label on his songs that said “No Conservative Use of my Songs Allowed!” BEFORE he took our money?

Screw him, and any and every “artist” that uses their celebrity as a weapon against half of America.

I helped pay for that celebrity, and they don’t have a right to use it against me and our Country’s best interests.

Oh, and screw George Bush for kissing that illiterate slut, “Babs” Streisand.

Your attitudes to Sarah Palin are similiar to the attitudes of Obama-fans to Obama, you talk like Sarah Palin is infallible, the pope. She isnt, and she has some obvious shortcomings. YOY CAN BE COONSERVATIVE AND HAVE MISGIVINGS RE PALIN! I am a big fan personally of MCCain: is that OK.
And I am happy to tell yuo what my misgivings re Palin are.
Thats democracy, we don;t all agree but repect the others opinion: is that OK?

“When a conservative pundit mocks Wasilla, he’s mocking conservatism as it’s actually lived.)’

btw Sorry about the errors I am a lousy typist.

That line of yours is what I have against Palin: just because you identify with the lady, and just becuase Wasilla is conservatism as it’s lived, doesn’t make her qualified to RUN THE WORLDS MOST POWERFUL NATION. Don’t you think it is a little parochail and shuttered to think just because she is ‘PLU’ she should run the country: think about it.

That would be really sad, because it is not that I am to the left of her or disagree with her views, it is her the person: get it. I love my uncle Joe, he has an IQ no higher than 100 and is conservative to the core-but i don’t want him as pres: can’t you get that point.
It is not her postion on anything, just think she is unsuitable personally. Now why should that be against the values of FR, maybe she just doesnt appeal to me personally-is that a crime???

YOY CAN BE COONSERVATIVE if you wish, but if that means being a fan of McQueeg (other than for his military service) dissing Sarah Palin and being happy about The Usurper being in power, then you are sorely lacking in any real foundation for your COONSERVATIVE principles.

I smell ozone.

Your commitment to the pro-life cause is commendable. In itself, however, it does not establish conservative credentials, as there are many social liberals (Nat Hentoff for example) who also champion the pro-life cause.

This brings another question to mind. How can you, a self-proclaimed advocate for life, say that you are happy with the victory of one who was the sole reason for the defeat of the Born Alive Infant Protection Act in Illinois, a champion of FOCA and who says that his biggest mistake as a Senator was voting in favor of saving Terri Schaivo?

Feeling any cognitive dissonance?
