McCain scolds GOP for whacking Obama
Politico ^ | 12/14/08 | Mike Allen

Posted on 12/14/2008 5:57:27 PM PST by gmoore57

In a surprising rebuke to the warriors who fought for him through tough times, Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) on Sunday sided with President-elect Barack Obama and scolded the Republican National Committee for fanning the Illinois corruption scandal.

On ABC’s “This Week,” host George Stephanopoulos asked: “The chairman of the Republican National Committee, Mike Duncan, has been highly critical of the way President- elect Obama has dealt with this.

"He's had a statement every single day, saying that the Obama team should reveal all contacts they've had with Governor [Rod] Blagojevich. He says that Obama's promise of transparency to the American people is now being tested. Do you agree with that?” See Also

McCain replied: “I think that the Obama campaign should and will give all information necessary. You know, in all due respect to the Republican National Committee and anybody — right now, I think we should try to be working constructively together, not only on an issue such as this, but on the economy stimulus package, reforms that are necessary. And so, I don't know all the details of the relationship between President-elect Obama's campaign or his people and the governor of Illinois, but I have some confidence that all the information will come out. It always does, it seems to me.”

You know, I’m begining to think I am really GLAD this hypocritical piece of horse offal lost the election. WE are seeing NOW what we would be facing if this RINO had won. His FIRST step would probably have been to dismiss Sarah Palin.

This despicable pile of protoplasm is the worst bit of primoridal ooze to ever bubble its way through the political sidewalk - and THAT says a lot!

It’s not surprising to me that McCain would say “Can’t we all just get along.”

He was the worst REPUBLICAN nominee in my lifetime. I voted for him after he chose Palin, but I thought then and know now that he is just a closet Rat. I hope the voters in Arizona send him into retirement ASAP.

I have heard that America does not have permanent friends; we have allies who sometimes share a common interest.

So it is with John McCain and the folks at Free Republic. The time of sharing the common interest is over, and now he can stop pretending to be a friend.

The absolute NERVE of John McCain! This guy needs to get off the stage. The damage that he will do to the country buddying up to Obama is going to be devastating.

I am demanding that John McCain (and any other RINO) either actually become a Democrat or start upholding Conservatism:

More WWF political reporting from Politico.

Why doesn't the New York Times buy Politico, so they can go out of business together?

Can I have my vote back (and the contribution I made)? We were all thinking Obama was going to be another Carter and all this time it was McCain that takes after Jimmy.

The media are still treating McCain as a leader of the Republican Party. He was when he was the GOP presidential nominee, but he is not now.

He is no more a leader of the Republican Party than losers Kerry, Gore, Dukakis, or Mondale were of the Democrat party.

McCain is a loser, and, worse, he lost a winnable election through lackluster campaigning, an unbelievably incompetent campaign staff, and vacillation on the $700 billion bailout issue.

His job now is to shut up and to support the Senate GOP minority.

Sorry . . . I’m not taking a scolding from a guy who accepted his party’s nomination and then proceeded to hand the election over to a Marxist on a silver platter . . . you no longer have the standing to do such Mr. McCain.

The only thing that McCain would have not done that Obama will do is appoint leftwing nutcases to the Supreme Court. Otherwise, they are 6 of one, half dozen of the other.

We were all thinking Obama was going to be another Carter and all this time it was McCain that takes after Jimmy.

One does not preclude the other. In fact, after one of Obama's press conferences about Blago, I decided that he had stopped channeling Martin Luther King and started channeling Carter. The accent was different, but the toothy grin and sanctimony were letter perfect.

Next week Obama will look directly into a camera and solemnly tell the country, "I will never lie to you."

The American people NEED to face their reality. Their political laziness, their political correctness, their spinelessness in dealing with race, gender, sex behavior, etc. Once they see 4 or 8 years of overgrown children in charge, maybe the voting public will start to grow up and demand more than 3 second soundbite and feel-good words.

It is NOT time to “work constructively” with Marxists.

It is time to obstruct them however you can, McAsshole.

I voted for Palin...he just happened to be on the ballot...win or lose it was just a matter of time before he resumed his attacks on conservatives.
