Medical Examiner: Skeletal Remains Are Missing Child Caylee Anthony's, Death a Homicide

A skull and bones found near the Florida home of missing child Caylee Anthony are those of the little girl and she was the victim of a homicide, the Orange County medical examiner said Friday.
"With regret, I'm here to inform you that the skeletal remains are those of the missing toddler," said Dr. Jan Garavaglia.
The manner of death was ruled a homicide by unknown means, according to Garavaglia.
Garavaglia determined the bones found in a privately-owned wooded lot were 2-year-old Caylee's through nuclear DNA analysis.
"They are not intact. They are all disarticulated. They are completely skeletonized," the medical examiner said. She said some of the bones found were "tiny."

Detectives deny the worker is a suspect in her death. The worker found bones Dec. 11 near the Orlando house where Caylee lived with her mother and maternal grandparents. He also had called in a tip to police on Aug. 11, 12 and 13, telling them to look in the same area for the remains, police said.
This should be interesting.

Sad story as whenever a child is killed.
However, once again Greta and Fox News proves that some children’s deaths are more important than others.
Now, Great must go looking for another missing or murdered white female.

I don’t think so, because I did a search and didn’t find anything. The ones I saw were from December 11, when the remains were found. This one confirms it is the little girl

This should be interesting.Yikes. Wonder what he knows. Maybe he just thought it would be a good area to look - it does appear the water level has changed since June/July. Maybe he's familiar enough with the route to know that. Hope he's not involved.

I’m not so sure this one didn’t become important because of the reprehensible dysfunctional family that couldn’t tell the truth if their lives depended on it.

Interesting indeed. Sounds like somebody is about to be charged as a accessory after the fact. Evidence was not merely "overlooked," it seems it was relocated: From Fox News: "The meter reader first called Aug. 11 to report a bag by the side of the road, MyFOXOrlando.com reported. A deputy wasn't able to locate the worker, the station said. The following day, the meter reader called a crime hotline. The information was passed on to the Orange County Sheriff's criminal investigation division. And on Aug. 13, the utility worker called cops a third time, MyFOXOrlando.com reported. He met with police, and a deputy did go into the wooded area to investigate the worker's claims, but didn't find anything. The scene was then cleared as a possible place of interest in the case. (The worker had to make contact with local PD a 4th time about the bag of bones everybody seemed to be ignoring!) There is now an internal probe under way within the police department into how the matter was handled."

The meter reader wasn't the first to ask for that specific area to be searched. Others called in and said the same thing. Caylee and a friend use to hang out in the area by themselves and a number of people saw them there.

Maybe he's familiar enough with the route to know that. Hope he's not involved. My guess, and it's just that, a guess: The worker prolly found the bones much earlier but didn't want to get too involved. He calls in tip after tip after tip and is ignored by LE, so he finally gives in and tells them, "Hey, there are BONES over there!"

There’s no excuse for killing any child.
May she rest in peace.
To: PowderMonkey
Evidence was not merely "overlooked," it seems it was relocated: From Fox News: I don't know. The article doesn't say that the deputy went with the worker, only that the deputy couldn't find the bag. That, in and of itself, doesn't suggest relocation. Animal activity could explain the condition of the bones upon discovery.

a story i just read on cnn says a girlfriend of caseys had calle le and told them to search that area a month before the worker....
To: IYAS9YAS; All
From ABC News-- snip --
After a tipster made multiple calls to authorities in August, police believe the man returned to the area last week "out of curiosity." He is not a suspect in the case, and police do not know if he had any prior association with Caylee's mother, Casey Anthony, who is being held on murder charges, sheriff spokesman Angelo Nieves said.

There was evidence in the trunk of the mother’s car. LE tested the air within, and the odor came up positive for human cadaver.

Hmmn. Perhaps, but first time: “found by side of the road”. Then found further back in the weeds. Then submerged in water, etc. The utility worker didn’t have any problems locating it each time. He knew it was still out there, and had to call four times for somebody to come get it. I’m betting somebody kept moving it around, and he knew it. That’s probably why he’s being questioned now.

the Orange county Sherrif’s department must have trained in Boulder Colorado.
Chief Wiggum of the Simpson’s could have done a better job of finding the body that the utility worker tried to tell them was there in a bag 3 times since August.....

Absolutely no surprise here.
Its not like we have dead babies along the roadside like deer or dogs. The odds of it not being that poor child were almost zero from the moment we heard of the find.
Rest in Peace, Caylee.

Thanks. From what I have seen in the reports is that a bag was reported in August, but they found the skull last week and have found more bones since. This tells me that the bones were no longer in the bag. Result of animal activity? Bag decomposition? Human activity?
This disarticulation of the bones would suggest animal activity or movement of the bag after the body decomposed.

The bag may have been moved by changing water levels in the area. Apparently the area was flooded earlier in the summer and was not readily accessible until recently.

I would look at the weather. Maybe they had enough rain to move it away from the road, and it eventually worked its way farther into the "woods."

Dogs could have moved it further in the woods. Might also account for scattered bones.
