I was just on the “Obey plagarist Shepard Fairey” web-site. This guy apparently steals from almost EVERYONE, not just old Russian propaganda posters.

You have indeed got the right Shepard Fairey.
He is though a legend. He invented the Andre the Giant has a Posse stencil graffiti, and the Andre the Giant OBEY artwork years ago.
And he is not an artist at all times, he is a craftsman or folk artist who freely rips off anything and everything he finds useful.

He is a theif and a vandal and a communist who is every bit as vile as a neonazi. And now, thanks to Obama hiring him, an official presidential portrait artist.
But don’t blame Obama for being surrounded by Communists. that is divisive and has never fed a starving child, Chicago.
Shepard Fairey went to RISD and barely passed his coursework. however he has a HUGE following due to his Andre the Giant graffiti art. RISD alums control an inordinate amount of mass media design departments on the East Coast.
See back in the late 80’s and early 90’s, white boys who weren’t street tough enough to go out and tag, and white guys who wanted to be graffiti artists but had no talent, were reduced to making stencil graffiti and peel off stickers with graffiti themes. Graffiti is one of the lowest forms of art, and “stencil graffiti artists” were the lowest form of grafffiti artists. And Shepard Fairey is their king.
These lowlifes were also the white boys most likely to whore themselves out to art schools and onward to advertising and media jobs doing layout and design work. This cohort of schlubs are now in their career peaks, and And Shepard Fairey is their king.
This is why he has so much influence in the mass media today.

I don’t view that movie as cheesy. More of a training video for the next few years.
It is a rip off from They Live. He cites that film for the messages “OBEY” and “THIS IS YOUR GOD”. He used the OBEY icon in one of his OBAMA posters.
And Obama’s team knows this. THIS IS YOUR GOD indeed.
I’m seeing that same type of pose used anytime CNN has a quote from an OBAMA(TM) press conference onscreen.
