That’s famous scene I remember: The fainter fain’eantly fainted on the faintee in the fantom of the opera.
This is starting to annoy me - When I want to go read Euclid’s Elements in latin, the only way I can get it is to pay for it.
Sort of like when I was in grad school, and a thin little pamphlet of a book cast the same as a semester’s tuition.

In other French related word play is the term “French leave,” a term popular during the first half of the 20th Century, including WWI and WWII. “French Leave” described the propensity of French soldiers to desert when faced with an adverse situation.
Another interesting tidbit about France is that it is the only country to lose twice in WWII. It lost to the Nazis when they took over in 1940 or so. Meanwhile, the Vichy French fought on with their Nazi allies in North Africa then they too were defeated. One country, one war, two defeats.

“Valkyrie” - Cruise was so bad it was distracting.
“Seven Pounds” - It lasted longer and was less enjoyable than the last time I was waterboarded. It did however make the woman I was with cry, something I never thought I would see.
