Chinese artist Ju Duoqi, 35, has done veggie versions of legendary works by masters like Leonardo da Vinci, Vincent van Gogh, Pablo Picasso and Andy Warhol.

She cooked up Mona Lisa with tofu and fashioned Warhol’s Marilyn Monroe from cabbage.

Ju uses boiled, dried or pickled veg, finishing with the fastest-rotting ingredients.

Her art has fetched £1,000. She said: “Wood just doesn’t look right.”

The Van Gogh is the BEST! Because the dominant vegetable used, (NOT cuke or carrot) which looks like chives or green onion stalks, so perfectly matches VG’s brushstrokes ————it was a stroke of luck to find something that appropriate. Nothing else comes close./

I like to look at art but these make me think I should make a New Year’s resolution to diet. ;)

I agree, but I must confess that Van Gogh is one of my favorite artists.

Can I share a secret???? If I could accomplish one artistic thing in my life, it would be painting like Van Gogh. I don’t have a single artistic bone in my body, but I sure have the desire.

Those are impressive looking. I thought it would be like most modern “art” and look like crap.

Um, she used a “male” vegetable for the Birth of Venus.

The Van Gogh is good. Most of the other ones suck. JMHO.
