Nothing personal against San Diego but any team that had to win its last game to be "divisional" champ and STILL doesn't have a winning record, shouldn't be in the playoffs.

The only alternative is to cut the number of divisions down and that's simply isn't going to work as you have 32 teams neatly divided into 4-team divisions by geographical area.

Rules are rules. You win the division, you should host a playoff game. Period.

Well, not quite period.

I would submit that if a division is so pathetic that an 8-8 team wins, then their position defaults to the 3rd best wild card team.

But, it's all moot. It certainly won't happen and watch, San Diego will probably win the super bowl ;-)

Update—for any Hockey Fans...
Canada defeats Russia in the shootout and advances to the Gold Medal game .
I switched over to the NHL network at halftime and caught the end of the game.
Pretty wild game with Canada scoring to tie it up with 5 seconds left to go ......(like anyone cares, LOL)
