Has this Gator’s coach ever heard of OJ Simpson and Nicole. Oh on second thought, scratch that.

Having a white wife didn't hold back Clarence Thomas.

Quite true. Lovie Smith (HC of Chicago Bears) is married to a white woman and was the lowest paid HC of the NFL. He wanted to prove he could create a champion team. The Bears may suck this year, but Lovie did prove he could go the distance. What ever happened to hard work? Black people used to say "If to be equal to a white man I have be 10 times as good, then so be it! I'll do it!"

Up and down is a nod. He nodded affirmatively.
To shake one's head express disapproval, dissent, or doubt.

NBA Hall of Famer Charles Barkley said last month that "race was the No. 1 factor" why Auburn chose Iowa State coach Gene Chizik over Buffalo coach Turner Gill. Gill, who is black, also is married to a white woman, and ESPN later reported that two Southeastern Conference coaches said Gill got passed over for the job partly because of his interracial marriage. Here we go again. The fans on the Auburn Rivals site were pulling for Gill before we heard he was even interviewed. He is a class act. When Chizik was first hired we were sick. But the strange thing is that Auburn's new coach, Chizik, has just hired four black coaches. These guys are friends of his that he worked with at other schools and one that was kept over at Auburn. We are excited about them because they are good coaches and great recruiters. I like Barkley, but he has a big mouth that gets in the way of his brain sometimes.
One other thing. Chizik was a coach at Auburn, I think, the year we were undefeated. Anyway that year he won the Frank Broyles Award for the Outstanding Assistent Coach in the country. Maybe that had something to do with with his hiring.

My wife and I have friend, a pretty, fine-featured, intelligent, well-educated black female who is deep into spinsterhood because, for years, she has insisted on dating only black men who share her deep religious convictions, and those cannot have been married previously. In the last few years she has modified her criteria to encompass previously married black men with strong religious convictions if they do not have any children.
Unfortunately most of her pool of eligibles today have convictions, but not strong religious ones, and most that meet her age/marital status criteria are gay or in prison or both.
My wife and I both told her ten years ago that she needed to find a nice white guy who would treat her right, but she emphatically said, "No", because she would be ostracized by her friends and family.
In my last assignment with IBM one of my colleagues was a brilliant black man with a PhD in Electrical Engineering who met all of her criteria. I tried to play matchmaker, but she turned down the opportunity to meet him because "he is too overweight to suit me".

Sir Charles has been married to a white woman for the last 15 years. How she puts up with his racial bigotry, and other crap that he deals in, I'll never know.

I went out with a black chick about 10 years ago who said she started dating outside the color to enhance her chances of finding a good mate. She explained that eligible black men are hard to come by and those who date white women get a lot of second looks and pressure to date their own kind.

Hasn’t hurt Clarence Thomas. Did hurt OJ, but only after he murdered his white ex-wife.

As if I'm supposed to accept everything Charles Barkley has to say. Chizik was only the head coach at Iowa State for two years before taking the Auburn job. Before that he was defensive coordinator at Texas in 2005-2006 for a team that went undefeated and won a national championship.

Strong, whose wife is white, said he heard that too many times for it to be rumor. He considers the rumor to now be a fact based on how many times he's heard it. If it is a "fact," he must have someone in mind against whom to file a discrimination suit. No? Until then, it's still a rumor.

Let me get this straight... your friend is looking to meet a black man with no criminal convictions and no illegitimate children running around? Does she also believe in leprechauns?

Gill WAS interviewed for the coaching job at Auburn. Syracuse also interviewed him. They instead went with a coach from the Saints that had never been a head coach. He had been an alum. Are they racist? See post 27.
Auburn also went with a coach we had had before and who won the Broyles award for Outstanding Assistant Coach while he was at Auburn. Gill is going to continue to be an outstanding coach and may one day be the coach at Nebraska. For sure, Auburn wouldn't have been his last stop.

Yes, most blacks do not want other blacks in interracial relationships.
Never forget one summer I was co-oping in DC and I had three black roommates (only white guy there) in the apartment. Two were from down south from black colleges. They were totally against me going out with a black woman, taking her away from a black man. Were also in favor of ‘separate but equal’ arrangements too. Blew my mind.
