Atlanta strip club shooting final straw as Cowboys cut Pacman

Try as he might to keep Adam “Pacman” Jones on the roster, Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones on Wednesday cut the talented cornerback who might wind up as a case study for wasted potential.

Earlier in the day, ESPN informed the Cowboys and the NFL that it plans to air a piece for its “Outside the Lines” program that includes never-before-seen footage of Pacman Jones’ apparent involvement in a June 2007 nightclub shooting when he was still with the Tennessee Titans. The incident occurred in a suburban Atlanta strip club.

At the time of the incident, Pacman Jones was already under a one-year suspension by the NFL for being involved in a Las Vegas shooting earlier that year.

“It was unexpected. It was a surprise,” said Pacman Jones’ agent, Worrick Robinson. The transaction will become official Feb. 9, when NFL teams can make waiver requests.

No. 6 overall of the 2005 NFL Draft

How the mighty have fallen.

Hey? Who was the head coach there? Rodriguez, right?

Look what Michigan has to look forward to.

I remember when that happened. Funny thing, of all the strip joint areas in Atlanta he went to the lowest class area.

I’ll just note it was amusing watching Pacman Jones cover my Bengals Chris Henry a few weeks back...lotta punchlines from me and my friends when that game was played.

As for this idiot...well, he’s an idiot with a bunch of Jerry Jones money....which is the big idiot?

Discuss amongst yourselves.

Bring back the XFL already. While they're at it, let's get 8 tracks queued up for a new rennaissance as well.

Yeah, Phillips has no discipline on this team. If I see Romo smile one more time after an interception, I’m gonna blow. We need Shanahan.

"Typical 2008 Dallas Cowboys Huddle"

Very, very old jokes but what the heck...

You do, of course, know what the call the Cowboys huddle?

Or..

What do they call the Dallas Cowboys dressed in suits?

The defendants.

Great football died with the departure of Tom Landry, George Allen and Don Shula - IMHO.

Although as a Skins fan I admit it lived on life support for a short time with early Gibbs.

I was a Landry era Cowboy fan but I always thought that Gibbs was probably the best ever.

Three championships with three different QBs is pretty amazing. It's one thing to win with a great QB but with three, um, more modestly talented players (sorry, but..) well, that's special.

I’m a firm believer that the Skins of that era were great because of the front line. Gibbs, of course, but Joe Bugal and those Hogs up front. Mark Ripian was good, but not great - The front line gave him such incredible protection that I could have been a good QB.
