I just can’t resist this:

* the “soft economy”. Give them some of the Afghan Viagra.
That should lead to a stiff economy.

* sending a letter to Rep. Barney Frank about the sex industry is like letting him have a house of ill repute in his basement. Oh sorry, he did.

* Presley has been “forced to cut her overhead.” I thought that was Lorraina Bobbit’s job. OUCH!

* Porno video companies are “tightening their belts.” Didn’t know they wore belts, or clothes for that matter.

* Re “People are spending less money, period.” Sorry that Elliot Spitzer is not available to give the economy a boost.

* Larry Flynt needs more than a bailout. More like a ballout. What a piece of crap.

“Put Viagra in the Mississippi River, ma, the South shall rise again.”

I agree with your post. I believe it was a sidebar ad at Newsmax that stated “how YouPorn killed the porn business” I hadn’t ever heard of that before and after a click, sho’nuff... mom and pop (and lots of others for that matter) are in front of their cameras and posting it on the internet for free.

LOL - so in other words, exhibitionists + the internet (thank you, Algore) killed the porn biz.

A bailout will not revive it as long as there are exhibitionists in this world.

Probably a good time for people like Larry Flynt and Joe Francis to just retire and fade away...

Ron Jeremy in The Big Threesome [Mark Steyn]

They said he was too big to fail, until the day he too needed a stimulus. It's come to this:

Porn Industry Seeks Federal Bailout

WASHINGTON (CNN)Another major American industry is asking for assistance as the global financial crisis continues: Hustler publisher Larry Flynt and Girls Gone Wild CEO Joe Francis said Wednesday they will request that Congress allocate $5 billion for a bailout of the adult entertainment industry.

Why not? And presumably Congress will impose improved emissions standards.

With technology and equipment so available and simple to use plus the surplus of production types, mom & pop porn operations would be a snap to start. The big thing is finding talent that people want to see.

Yup. It's a changing business model. A porn studio making relatively high-budget movies and hiring fairly expensive porn actresses has a tough time competing with an attractive woman with a website who makes short porn movies out of her home. For maybe $30/month, people can sign up for a "package" of porn websites giving them access to literally thousands of short porn videos. That seems like a better deal than spending $30 for one porn DVD produced by Vivid Video or Hustler.

Anyway, you don't even need to pay the $30/month. There are a number of websites where porn videos are posted for free (including amateur, semi-pro and professional porn)
