Posted on 01/09/2009 2:01:23 PM PST by Lucius Cornelius Sulla
The other day the guys from BaconToday.com contacted me in search for some barbecue bacon recipes. Of course I have plenty of great uses for bacon in a barbecue pit, but the longer I thought about it, the more I wanted to step it up a notch and clog a few arteries for those guys. Behold, BACON EXPLOSION!!! Heres what youll need
2 pounds thick cut bacon
2 pounds Italian sausage
1 jar of your favorite barbeque sauce
1 jar of your favorite barbeque rub

Those pics and the instructions!! I have to have this.
The little Macshithead
Soon as you posted that, the little schnauzer next door lit off LoL.
Drat his hide.
How does one go about getting an invite to this extravaganza? Wasn't it you guys that took pics of that big mudbug at one of your cookouts? Eastforker, I still have a copy of that step-by-step BBQ thread that you did. Yum!
It helps to be a Houston FReeper. ;-)
HATters - Next get together we have, remember to invite the DumbBlonde (no, I am not talking about pax!).
Our next TexasCowboy Memorial Shoot will be held in October . . . we will put you one the ping list.
O’Kay but being she from coonass country she will have to contribute somthin from the bayou.
Mudbugs, Gator or Boudin?
We Texans got our own mudbugs and we do have gators but I heard loosiana gator got better flavor, somethin about creole seasoning in their diet.
We will get the invites out in soon.
I may have to try this smoked delicacy to see if it is suitable fare
see last post, forgot to add the name, blond rubs off ya know.
Lived there for 20 years ... can that be counted??? ;-)
"Our next TexasCowboy Memorial Shoot will be held in October . . . we will put you one the ping list."
I'll look forward to it ... you mean we get to shoot? Eatin' and shootin', all in one event? I've apparently been missing all the good stuff!
Can I bring Buster and Annabelle? (you probably don't remember my goat babies from another thread, LOL!) On second thought, it probably isn't a good idea to bring pets that could, possibly, be mistaken for part of the BBQ!
This sounds like a screwin.
That goes without sayin'. Done.
I have added the DumbBlonde to the TC Shoot ping list.
We've got a big one in my favorite bass pond and he's starting to peeve me pretty good, this could definitely be done!
4 legged animal with cloven hoofs are endangered species at tard events.
All folks are invited to our get togethers . . . we just tend to invite those that live in the Houston area. Although I have no doubt that so many would like to join us.
I am sorry that you have missed the TexasCowboy Memorial Shoots . . . we spent the morning shooting all kinds of guns, then retire to good eats & adult beverages.
It would not be a good idea to bring goats along . . . I do not have a good record of getting along with goats. Although, humblegunner loves goats!
That made me really chuckle.
I will be hosting this shindig.
It cant compete with what TheMom, Eaker,Eastforker, Humblegunner,Allegra and Pax have done in the past, but I sure am gonna give it a shot.
The shoot will be Oct 16~18 in Seagoville Tx.
We have a nice place lined up in Crandall Tx for dinner and there MAY be some kind of bacon explosion at the shooting site LoL.
I am working on nearby hotels and there is camping available at the shooting range (do it yourself)
More details as it becomes available.
Got an itch to hit the road? and a come what may attitude?
Come and see us
Good food, good shootin’...damn goat! BWAAHAAAHAAA!
Well it’s the truth! L0L
I hate that damn goat!!!!!
This thread has been hijacked!
That may be why it is so funny.
If I'm remembering the story correctly, you really hated that goat! Funny story.
Very good. Send me the list when we get the thread up
Hey, you ain’t getting all the glory, I plan on cookin sumptin.
Well Hells bells how we gonna coordinate all this cookin stuff out in the woods?
Thank you kindly! Sounds like a great amount of fun with some really good company. If at all possible, the hubby and I would love to attend.
The freakin’ goat started it!!
He is evil, pure and simple evil. I hate that damn goat, and have no problem letting him know I thing he is a punk & making fun of various body parts, just to tick him off!
Hey, here’s a goat!
Well Hells bells how we gonna coordinate all this cookin stuff out in the woods?.......................................
Hell we’re Texans,, we ain’t let nothing like weather, woods, rattlesnakes or wild hogs hold us back, we just cleanem and eatem, case solved.
I think that goat probably hates Mom as much as she hates him! LOL!
He give her the evil eye! I’ve seen it!
The usual suspects have been let loose tonight...
Seeing that this is my thread, and I proposd the major cookout item, and am a former Dallas and Austin Freeper, perhaps I can wangle an invite out of this.
I picked Oct so the weather would be fine.
I Was planning dinner here http://www.crandallcottongin.com/
The website is AFU but the food is good and its 10 mi from the shoot.
Any diehards wish to party into the night at the river bottom and BBQ will have to drag grills and stuff down there for the following day.
It can be done, but I would suggest we let the cotton gin folks serve us and we can do simple burgers and such late at night and in the AM
You know the drill.
All Freepers are invited
If you have a ping list for this event, please put me on it.
I plan on cookin a few beers around a campfire
I will update you with details when we get a thread posted
“Lefty... we hardly knew yee...”
I can feel my arteries hardening as I read the recipe! ;o) Sounds quite tasty, though!
I wish you wouldn’t hold it in ... LOL! I’m starting to hate that damn goat just on general principle.
